Nice to be able to make the handles all the same

A fairly new wheel potter having done it only for 1 year now... but found these moulds to be small and not helpful as I had hoped. They are made of a foam and the forms are just hard to keep the clay on to mould and dry enough to use slip to attach to my piece. The forms are all about the same size - was hoping for various sizes for different size bowls/mugs. Found free hand forms to be more easy and useful.

My wife says: As a hobby potter, handles have always been my nemesis so I thought I would try these handle forms. The listing gives an accurate description of the forms I received. There is a good variety of sizes and shapes (although the set did not include an elongated reverse c which is my favorite shape). Unfortunately the instruction video did not indicate how to attach the handles. This seems to me to be a critical consideration. Depending on the cross section of the handle, just cutting the clay flush with the form may not give a secure attachment. For some of the shapes varying the thickness of the handle (thicker at the ends and thinner in the middle) over the form seemed to work. For other shapes extending the handle to make a vertical tab along the the side of the form that attaches to the cup or off the bottom end seemed to make a better bond. It is going to take some experimentation but I have high hopes for coming up with a scheme to make consistently good handles using these forms.

My son started in ceremics in 2014 as a freshman in High School and proceeded to take the class for all 4 years and now at 25 is a pottery instructor for 2 different art studios and sells his pottery off of his own website. These are great for beginners and he likes using them for consistancy. I included the first mug he ever made for a laugh and to also show the progression to what he makes today. I bet he wished he had one of these molds back in 2014 - Handles are usually hand pulled and it takes quite some time to perfect. The main upside to a mold is every handle will be the same shape. There are 12 total handles to choose from depending on the size and type of mug or cup you're making. There's even a handle for a taller stein type mug. If you're a beginner or even have some experience, these will help you stay consistant with your handle making.

Will work with regular sized mugs but too small for pitchers. Just rather small.
