Maggi Seasoning Sauce

Amazon has the best price I've ever found for Maggi Domestic Seasoning so I only buy it from Amazon; otherwise: Best cooking seasoning you will ever use!!! Once you use this you will never stop. It's one of the three or four seasonings I HAVE to have in my kitchen to cook!! My Mother always used it and to my memory going back to the 1950's and it hasn't changed at all. You won't be disappointed in Maggi! A few drops directly on all meats and fish, in all sauces, all gravies, all vegetables, any grain/noodle dishes and it enhances the flavor 10 fold. If you ever taste a drop on your tongue you'll think "Oh heck no!" But put it on the food you're cooking and it is just magic how it enhances the flavor of all foods!!! Again: You won't be disappointed, use it once and you're stuck! You will love this stuff! Turns any bland dish into a flavorful one with just a few drops!

I bought this because I had heard good things about it in the foodie community and it was on sale. I'm a sucker for trying new sauces and seasonings. It tastes slightly less salty than soy sauce and adds a depth of roasty, umami flavor. I'm trying to kick my Bachan's Japanese BBQ sauce habit (mostly sugar!) since I'm trying to lose weight. I made grilled teriyaki chicken today with riced cauliflower and used half the amount of Bachan's I usually do and subbed a few teaspoons of Maggi seasoning. Cut out a ton of calories without sacrificing flavor. I love this stuff! Worth noting that this does have a significant amount of sodium in it. Since I don't have high blood pressure, I don't typically pay attention to how much sodium I consume (too many other things to worry about in life), but I know that it may be a concern to some people.

Great seasoning for just about anything. A must have.

Amazon needs to split this listing into at least three different listings. I have ordered from two different sellers (Pantry Essentials and Octopus's Garden) and both times received the Mexican version of this product, "Maggi Jugo" on the label, with Soy as the first ingredient. The listing is for "Maggi Seasoning", with an ingredient list that includes NO soy. This one includes no gluten ingredients (of interest to people with gluten issues) but it's soy that I can't have. The Mexican version has only 2 ingredients: Hydrolyzed Soy Protein and Caramel Color. (Made on equipment that also processes wheat and milk) The different versions (German, Chinese, Mexican and any others I am not aware of.) obviously have radically different ingredients. Amazon has been informed and they told me they are going to be editing the item listing to be broken up and corrected, but who knows if that will actually happen.

The bottle receive was slightly different that pictured. I didn't know there were so many varieties. I love using Maggi in cooking and seasoning. Great with pork, hamburgers, even steaks and chicken. lots of uses for this product.

Not sure what concoction this is but I was expecting the real kind and had never seen this type before- nothing like the classic, taste was weird, color very dark, definitely not what was advertised

It's neither soy sauce, tamari, or worcestershire, but man does it have a nice flavor and belong somewhere adjacent to that family. It's bold but not overbearing, it adds a pleasant salty flavor not unlike fish sauce but with significantly less fish. If you like any of the above sauces and you've never give Maggi a try, go for it! Strong chance you'll like it. A little goes a long way.
