Will this kilz stainblocking ceiling paint cover nicotine stains?

Probably, the paint covered up water stains from a leak.

I used a different kilz ceiling paint & primer couple years ago without the pink. will it dry to the same shade and color as the older formula?

The pink disappears as the paint dries. The pink tint isn't real pronounced under certain lighting conditions. The paint dries to a uniform flat white ceiling paint. The dry flat white matches other ceiling paint in the same house. The ability to match a former shade depends on how much dirt, smoke, soot and, other airborne pollutants the old paint may have absorbed.

How well will this cover kitchen ceiling stains from cooking?

I covers really well, but the oily cooking stains may bleed through. I would coat with original Kilz first.

Best ceiling paint ever. Love that it looks pink and dries white. You can see where you painted !

Wanted to refresh our old, dingy popcorn ceiling without doing a full scrape and skim. This worked great. Easy to put on with a slight pink hue for a few minutes so you don't miss spots, but dries to a nice bright white. Single (heavy) coat coverage.

It came out looking good after I did two coats that’s the only reason I gave a 4. But I like that it has a tint so you can see where your at. And I when I tapped it to do the wall’s nothing came off on the tape. I will be using again
