He needed only a little help to learn to implement variables for the first time. The book is a slim volume, beautifully illustrated, and the projects are bite-sized and perfect for kids. I appreciated that these projects were more varied than just games. Great for kids (and adults) who want to understand the basics of coding
My grandchildren loved the Coding in Scratch Games Workbook in the same series - the 9 year old was delighted to successfully produce her own game in a very short space of time. Now her friends and 7 year old sister have all caught the coding bug so she was delighted to receive this for Christmas.

Great book for 7-8 year old coders
My 8 year old loves it. This book is fantastic and very informative. The projects are well described in clear and easy language. I like that in the end of each project there is little test to check the knowledge.
