Review: Great for all aspiring bee keepers - Fantastic book Review: Dummies the thing for a very good taster - Bought on recommendation of the Undergardners Review of 3 August. I agree an excellent book. I bought as I'm considering keeping bees. I found the Bee Manual by Haynes ( which I also bought) assumed an understanding of the subject. Beekeeping for Dummies doesn't. It deals with the subject clearly and concisely for a lay person like me curious about the craft. How accurate only an experienced Bee Keeper can tell you and I don't presume to do so. I can say it inspired me to join my local Association and to read Ted Hoopers book which is a fabulous book once you get a handle on the basics. For me it's Dummies over Haynes and once mastered Ted Hooper but and a big but it doesn't match meeting the Bees in the Apiary.

This is highly recommended - packed full of tips in an easy-to-access format
I bought this and ‘Building Beehives’ at the same time. Whilst the latter is rubbish, this book is great. It is super clear and easy to understand and is packed full of hints and tips. I’m a novice beekeeper and have done lots of online research... even so, this book has something new, informative and helpful on every page. It is very well laid out..I’d highly recommend it. I know it’s going to be a invaluable reference book as I begin my beekeeping journey

verbose but thorough
Pretty good book, typical of the series, it's verbose but thorough, written by experts, good balance, covers the things you need. Why not five stars? There are better books available. e.g. Ted Hooper and Haynes Bee Manual and BBKA Guide.

Not just for 'Dummies'
Bought as a present for my mother who took up beekeeping a few years after I did. She has found it beneficial and it gives practical advice in an easily understood manner. At times I've borrowed it back to read up a little more on areas I needed to and the level it's pitched at is good for dummies and experienced beekeepers alike. I'm not vastly experienced myself and this is a good book to have handy. Definitely recommend this

The perfect book for Beekeeping newbies
Perfect for anybody new to beekeeping. I actually purchased the Bee Manual (Haynes) first and found that heavy going to be honest. It seemed to make too many assumptions about your level of knowledge. I will probably go back to that book after reading the Dummies book as I anticipate having several reference books to help with the start of my beekeeping journey. However, this Beekeeping for Dummies is pitched at just the right level of detail for the new starter, with regular dashes of humour thrown in which also helps with the explanation. If you are new to beekeeping or just thinking about the possibility of becoming a beekeeper, get this book first !!!

Very helpful
This is so easy to read. It makes you not want to put it down! I’ve never read such an engaging How To book before. That being said, get a mentor after you read this. There’s a lot to beekeeping, and even after reading this, there’s no way I could have done it without some guidance.

A really good first book about Beekeeping.
Although I had a mentor when I started keeping my first hive, this book has easy to understand information. I bought this book only to realize this edition was earlier than the one I started with, so I made sure to buy the latest 2020 edition.
