FRIO Insulin Cooling Wallet (Individual, Blue)

Bought this on the Diabetic Nurse's recommendation because I walk a lot and for air travel. Haven't used it for air travel yet but out hiking it has proved it's weight in gold. Kept insulin pen cool in all weathers. We camped and I kept the NovoRapid in this single use one from Sunday till following Friday. The larger wallet works as marvellously, holding the Levemir and a couple of spare pens. I would certainly recommend this wallet and the larger one which holds 4 pens comfortably.

I have now used the wallet(s) in Singapore/Malaysia and they worked perfectly keeping the insulin and a constant low temperature. I have recommended them to diabetes sufferers that I know in those countries.

You just soak the inner sleeve in water for 5 mins and the internal crystals soak up water and expand, you can then slot your insulin pen in and place in the outer case. It keeps the insulin at a stable temperature for around 2 days before you need to re-soak in water. You can carry in your pocket without worrying about your insulin overheating even in very hot countries. Makes this an essential item for me now when travelling or exercising for long periods in hot weather.

Fantastic to use when going on holiday especially long distance when no fridge is near you. - keeps your insulin at a low temperature throughout I tend to keep it soaked in cold water in the tap overnight just before flying and have had no issues at all.

Used in Turkey on holiday, absolutely perfect. Just don't soak it for longer than recommended otherwise it gets too swollen to fit pens in.

I found it really handy nice size and it works you couldn't ask for more.

J'ai acheté ces pochettes pour avoir mon insuline sur moi à marseille par grosse chaleur et pour pouvoir partir en Corse. Le système est parfait. Les stylos restent au frais 24h sans problème voire 48h s'il ne fait pas trop chaud. La pochette contient 2 stylos. Attention à ne pas mettre la pochette à gonfler dans un trop grand volume d'eau car elle gonfle vite et lorsqu'elle est trop gonflée on peine à y insérer 1 stylo. Je recommande fortement !

This is my second "cooling wallet". I bought the previous one 20 years ago (!) and that one still works well. It is very usefull when travelling and I wanted to have two of them. It is simple, small and it works well.

Prima di usarlo vanno lette bene le istruzioni e soprattutto, vanno seguite (tempi e modalità di ammollo e sciugatura specialmente). L'astuccio corrisponde a foto e descrizione, il fresco si mantiene per qualche giorno. Lo ho usato (nella versione 6*18 e 14*19 come alternativa al frigo per un viaggio di due settimane, bagnando le custodie al bisogno in modo da assicurare all'insulina la freschezza necessaria). Mi pare la temperatura sia fresca in maniera soddisfacente per la conservazione dell'insulina fino a 3 giorni. Mi chiedo se d'estate la durata si riduca. Ci stanno tranquillamente due penne, nonostante l'astuccio venga descritto come monouso. Costa, ma il gioco vale la candela: sono una viaggiatrice di piacere e lavoro! Niente ghiaccetti e corse alla ricerca del frigo e soprattutto nessun rischio di dimenticare le insuline nei frighi di qua e di là.

Semble très bien, à valider sur le long terme. Attention à ne pas laisser tremper la pochette trop longtemps, 4 ou 5 mn max, sinon le deuxième stylo aura du mal à entrer (et surtout à sortir ;o), encore plus s'il est gros genre Tresiba. La pochette doit rester très souple, et Il vaut mieux prévoir de la remouiller légèrement en cours de route en cas de besoin. Je conseille de faire des essais, pour partir serein.
