Val Kilner Jars.. Great Quality
What's not to like about Val Kilner jars! Great quality and assurance of a good seal for canning... I bought these for a variety of reasons... Pickled eggs, storing dried onions and even home-made wine, pickles etc. Why not! The list is endless and they hold 1L so plenty of room... you can also vacuum seal the lids, yes there is such a machine to do this, so should keep things even longer.. it's a win win 🏆

Strong, good size
I purchased these so many years ago and they are still going strong, very sturdy. I didn't use them to store food so i couldn't give a review for this, I actually use them to store pens, pencils etc in my craft room.

Perfect for preserving food
Easy to use and up until now they seem to be the best for preserving meat. As we expect power cuts, I made some meat preserve in those jars as I suspect our freezer will not be a great choice through this winter. The lid of the jars allowed the hot air to leave the jar during sterilisation and preparation of the preserve so now there is a lower pressure in the jar comparing with the environment. They are easy to open by hand and the food was exactly as expected when I opened one jar one month later. Very pleased with my purchase.

Evri delivery cannot be trusted to deliver on time or keep you informed of the reason for delays.
The Kilner jars were as described and I am more than happy with them. I find the 1L jars are ideal size for preservation and long term storage. The delivery experience was not good hence the 4 stars. My order was made on 27th may for next day delivery. The system showed it arrived at Avonmouth hub very early on the morning of the 28th. The package stayed there all day and night. Then the system showed it was out for delivery on 29th. I waited all day as the indicator showed it was making very slow progress to the delivery mark. Just shy of the delivered mark it stopped. Nothing else. The following morning I had a text to say it was still on the way but it could be any day up to the 2nd June. Bearing in mind my home is about 40 minutes from Avonmouth hub. Finally today 31st may it arrived late afternoon. I am not impressed with Evri delivery and will not be purchasing anything from companies who use them.
