Fun
Great little package. Impressed with Mongoose OS so far. Had fun going through the tutorial and sample code.

Waste of time and effort.
Documentation is poor and support almost non-existent. Could not get required development software to run on my Mac. Reached out for support but told they do not support the development environment. Was looking for an easy way to use the AWS IOT. This is clearly not the way. Will return it to Amazon.

[UPDATED] getting MUCH better....
Update 2017-10-19 : The nice folks at Mongoose OS have reached out to me to let me know about the changes and improvements that they made. They've addressed everything I've mentioned below. However I returned the device before I received their email. Considering the improvements they've made and the work that they have put into the rectifying things I will purchase it again and give it another try. Then I will return to update this review again. ------------------------------------------------ Beyond disappointed.... There are no complete tutorials or information regarding all the steps necessary to at least get the AWS IoT Button project to work with this device. And all of the tutorials center around Mac/Linux (I'm on Windows). And nowhere is there a complete beginning to end tutorial describing all of the required setups. However, I was able to to get the AWS side to work and tested it with an MQTT tool (MQTTFx 1.4.2). That effort required the review of at least 2 or 3 outdated tutorials and what I could deduce from the information I was able to find. And nothing specific to the ESP32 was found. There are a lot of pieces that require either to be created, or modified that are not present in any of the tutorials. I've spent at least 72 working hours just trying to get the AWS IoT button demo to work. So, unless you're very well versed in AWS and are willing to spend a large amount of time getting it all worked out then I definitely do not recommend this item. For me it has been a complete waste of valuable time and effort. I'd also like to note that this device is too wide for a standard solderless breadboard. When placed into one there will be a side of it that will not have any empty holes in it. The solution I came up with was to mount to breadboards side by side and remove the power rails on the inner facing edges. I will be returning this item and canceling my AWS account to avoid the charges that will occur a year later. The "free" tier is temporary from what I was able to determine.

I was quite disappointed. I'm still digging to see what the root ...
I already have and ESP32 and thought I would follow the AWS Iot Button example. Part of it works. It's supposed to send me an email when I push a button on the ESP32. It sends me a confirmation email and that's successful. But after pushing the button after that I receive no emails. I was quite disappointed. I'm still digging to see what the root cause of it is. If I can't then I'll have to delete everything and start over. But then I wouldn't know what caused it. If starting totally over doesn't solve it then it's dump this idea. I should have to have an AWS Services degree to do this. I'd like something secure and then go back to concentrating on making my ESP32 do other work. Then I can understand better how all this works. Definitely not for the faint of heart. If it works great the first time for you then great. But the whole flow is very complex if it doesn't work.

The product is not similar to the photos
I just got the product and it is not at all as in the photos. I was expecting to have an actual ESP32 development board but instead I got an grid connect product. You guys need to update the photos so people know wat they are actually buying. I will test the product since I got it but for now only one star. I will review my rating after testing. The one star is for the fact I did receive a different product.
