This is really good quality encaustic gesso - it worked exactly as I thought it would. Encaustic painting, however, is really difficult and did not work as I expected.

C'est le gesso pour la peinture au medium encaustique qu'il faut. Comme on ne peut utiliser de gesso acrylique pour ce type d'application, on n'a donc pas le choix. Il est facile à appliquer sur le bois, sèche assez vite et se ponce bien avant de recevoir le medium et la peinture.

The lid was not tightened so there was some leakage jnto the package.

No terrible smell, goes on easy and make a nice surface for encaustic wax painting. R&F is the premier encaustic supplier imo. There are not many and their hand made paints are excellent but expensive.
