is the poster exposed or does it come with a plastic cover?

It is exposed. What I did was buy an inexpensive poster frame and put the poster in it and it slide right in. The frame also provided a sturdy back because the back is open.

what is the dimension for poster / sign to properly fit in the frame? I would like to order my signs while waiting on frame to arrive.
