Polycell One Coat Damp Seal 1L

This item is brilliant! We had two damp spots that just kept appearing. Just one coat of paint worked so well! After the one coat we then painted the wall with our chosen paint. No issues and no more damp marks appearing, . Highly recommend!

Purchased this after a reoccurring damp patch keeps revealing itself bubbling the paint in the corner or a bedroom. It’s very runny.. so be ready with gloves and a cloth incase as it drys fast! It has a strong odour & drys out exposed skin. The first time I used this I didn’t wear a mask and had really chapped lips for the days following, The second time round I did wear a mask and no problems at all! It has completely sealed the damp area and has stopped it from coming back through. At a fraction of the price of damp treatment it really is a fantastic product. Appears white when painted.

Great product, used in a few patches over the home where there had been water staining (works very well on this) and some ongoing damp issues, this particular patch was the worst. I removed some of the damaged plaster and used a poly filla product and sanded down then applied the paint. So far the damp has not returned. There are other patches which have returned, however there is an issue with the external wall so will reapply once this issue has been resolved! Paint is very thick and hard to work with but it definitely does the job, and dries like an eggshell matte!

This one seal paint is absolutely fantastic! We kept getting patches of mould on the ceiling and wanted a better solution than just spraying mould spray. I put a coat on of this, then went over it with a second coat a few hours after the first had dried. It’s been about 5 weeks now easily and it’s not come back at all! It’s like paint mixed with glue so a smooth roller is needed (like for gloss). Also be super careful when using it, it marks whatever it touches so make sure to keep everything covered and have some thinners to hand. Also eye covering is an absolute must - I got a dried fleck of it stuck in my eye, luckily my eye went crackers and it self resolved - be careful with this stuff. Otherwise it dries quick and decent value for the size. It also does smell abit so good ventilation is needed I think or you’ll get abit of a headache. Would recommend to solve mould issues in the home everytime though. Update: 1 year later and the mould has not returned!

Okay I must stress this product did work but was absolutely horrible to use. Ensure you mix this really well prior to starting. I thought I had but obviously not as it was runny to start with (those areas needed a second coat) and thick towards the end. Wear gloves and long sleeves if this gets on your skin it is difficult to get off. Lastly the scent is horrible and lingers. I have waited a few weeks to write this review to ensure their is no sign of either the dots of mould in the bathroom or the stain from a previous damp spot. So far so good.

Absolutely great. Used in a bedroom that was really run down and needed completely redoing. The room had a lot of damp and since I’ve used this I’ve not had any problems at all. Says it’s once coat and it most likely is but I used 2 to be sure as it was really damp. One coat with a brush and one with a roller to really pack it onto the wall.
