Composting Toilet Liquid Diverter Insert by Free Range Designs | Universal Separator Easy-Clean ABS (White)

I've had a composting toilet for @4 years now and my first urine separator/diverter was 3D printed so the ridges made cleaning difficult. This one here is smooth plastic that is easy to clean. Also this design has a lip at the edge of the separator that extends down into the bucket, so any liquid that hits the edge goes straight into the bucket instead of down the underside of the funnel and down the outside of your tube and onto the floor. The drain hole is bigger which forced me to upgrade from a waterhose that kept getting clogged anyway. I just bought a second one to convert my garage toilet, and will definitely refer family and friends to this exact composting urine separator. It feels sturdy too, good quality.

Works great. Using a urine diverted is a game changer for composting toilet. We've used ours for several years and got a second to set up another toilet.

I like this thing. I have a custom wood composting toilet bench for my guest cottage. The problem is when I have guests who sit down to pee its hard to control the application of peat moss and keep the toilet odor free. This little urine separator fit my bench nicely, and the urine is now removed from the main composting system and goes to an easier to manage holder that allows repurposing as fertilizer. I add water and into the large forest area it goes. Very good price for a useful off grid product.

This thing would work great if only it were deeper. To shallow. Women pee a lot and we have a tendency to wait till the last minute! This causes heavy amounts of urine at high velocity!! Can you say splatter... otherwise it's a good product.

The product is sturdy and nonbendable. Somebody left a review that was incorrect. It almost made me skip the purchase, however that review was wrong. The product, in fact, is sturdy and nonbendable. Also there is a missing dimension. The poo chute is approximately 4 inches deep. The stats only mention that the pee tube is 5.1 inches deep. If you use it on a true 5 gallon "sized" bucket, then it fits very well over the rim. Generally, that covers 3.5 gallons up to 7 gallons, because they are usually all the same diameter (only the height is different). I also experimented with a 2.5 gallon, but that pail has has a smaller diameter and is not quite as good a fit, but it does work.

I used it on a bucket after I had a big problem with my only toilet. It was fantastic. It's durable and easy to clean.

I'm so excited. I put this in my Reliance portable toilet and it fits. If it came in black, I'd love it even more. They have the half one in black, but I'm really liking this full one. I have a small black trash pail that I'm going to cut shorter for the #2, and I just realized that the larger plastic containers that Milkbone treats or peanut butter pretzels or peanuts come in will fit this perfectly for the #1.
