Excellent cheese slicer. My parents used this slicer when I was a child. Ending up getting a slicer when I moved out. Lasted me 20 years. Bought a new one, looked and felt the same. You don't always have to change what works! Very happy with the product!

If you like wire cheese cutters this is your cheapest option and it comes with some spare wires, which is important because sooner or later the wire will break and, unless replaced, leave the gadget useless. You can cut two thicknesses of cheese slices on the two opposite sides: thick and thicker. You can only cut cheeses of the consistency of Danish Havarti, i.e. soft, but not too soft - not brie, or camembert, for example. By not asking it to do what it can't, we have had wires last as long as five years, but you can't count on it. However, the wire cheese cutter does a fabulous job on the right kind of cheese and even though we have numerous cheese knives and cheese planes, we would not like to do without it.

Seems like a simple effective design that should work. Replacement wire are a bonus

If you love cheese and making cheese platters, you need this slicer! It is the absolute best. Tip: Do not use for slicing hard cheeses.

We've been buying this cheese slicer for years and absolutely love it. It comes with replacement wires but over time they do all eventually break. I wish they would sell just a pack of replacement wires because I now have three of these gadgets.

Although the design is nice, the slicer is compact, takes little space in the drawer, and it's easy to use. I find the handle to be too small for my hands which are not all that large. The wire on this cheese cutter is only good for the softest cheeses. Even muenster cheese, which isn't very hard, was too much for the wire and it broke after just a few slices. I happen to have 0.022" stainless steel wire in my shop, so I fixed it my way. A Dremel cutting disc widened the wire slots ever so slightly and I was able to make up new cutting wires that take a LOT of use and easily handle even harder cheddars without breaking. That shouldn't be necessary, and I would have returned the cutter if I didn't have a solution to the problem on hand. I cannot recommend this cheese cutter and strongly suggest a buyer find one with stronger wire.

Bought this one with replacement wires after I learned my lesson with a "knock off" that broke after a few months and I couldn't find a replacement wire. But I haven't had to use the replacements yet at all. Still going strong and I can't even remember how long it's been since we got it. (At least a couple of years?)

Kann ich einfach nur jedem empfehlen. Für mich gibt es keinen besseren Hobel. Er hat zwei verschiedene Stärken zum schneiden . Er ist sehr langlebig und es gibt Ersatzdrähte.

Perfect for slicing those soft, creamy cheeses! Inherited one from my mother, and used it for a long time until the string broke. (can be fixed) Now I bought 2 identical, but plastic with handle, wich is better when using dish-washer. Recommended!
