I no longer have to take Tylenol every single morning ! I will continue to re-order.. I've tried so many things out there. This is the only one that gives me a relief at least 50% not 100% but 50% I will take it.!!!! LOVE!!!!

It’s the real deal
My husband and I have been taking Haka Life GLX3 Green Lipped Mussel Oil for several years now. So, from long term experience we can say this product is excellent. We are both relatively fit for our ages (mid to late 60s). However, prior to use, our joints were showing typical signs of aging: aching knees, wrists, fingers etc. Neither of us have those issues since taking GLX3. If we need to stop taking it for any reason we quickly notice a difference. Furthermore, there’s no taste or smell to this product, so no burping fishy side effects. Do your homework and you’ll find this product is the real deal. It pure, sustainably harvested and worth the cost.

Love this
This stuff really works I have already to led at least 20 people about it. I am 69 years old and suffer from worn out knees thought this was a scam but thought what the heck even if I couldn’t get my money back I was desperate for relief. Not thinking it would help but I can’t afford to retire I need to work. After 1 month I am now running up and down stairs to work on peoples homes a bit sore after 8 hrs but kicking butt. I highly recommend this and have to my customers and other contractors younger than me and suffering. Not sure if it works for everyone but it works for me no more cortisone shots that destroy my joints. I hope it works for everybody that is reading this I hope the price goes down as more people buy this product very good company I think they are really trying to help others. God Bless

This really did what it was supposed to do, cured my sciatica! They are a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it.

Allergic reaction or infection--NOT Related to Any Shellfish Sensitivity
These seem to modestly help with joint stiffness and pain (one AM, one PM). I had high hopes. My concern is with a nasty allergic reaction or infection that became readily evident after about a week. I NEVER have an allergic reaction to eating any kind of shellfish--including mussels, so I have NO shellfish allergy. This product is just not for me. Oh, and the product is not returnable. Reported Symptoms (per one report): Some users have reported experiencing itchy rashes and, in rare instances, more severe skin reactions, such as those described as "staff infection" that does not go away (which may be a severe inflammatory response or infection).

Very tiny, great for travel, but is it worth it?
Ok, a little math: Previously I was taking 2 servings of 1290mg of fish oil for 900mg of Omega-3s per day, for a total of almost 2600mg of fish oil and 1800 mg of Omega-3s each day. This is, unfortunately, so far nearly impossible to compare to GLM oil, but i'll try. We have 100mg of GLM oil per serving of GLX3 per day. According to one article, GLM contains ETA which is "hundreds of times more potent than the EPA found in fish oil". But what % of the 100mg is ETA? Who knows. They don't tell you the mg of Omega-3s, probably because they are afraid you will compare it by weight to the Omega-3s in fish oil. However, hiding that information, along with the % of ETA, makes it very hard to judge whether i am getting the correct amount of Omega-3s. From another article: 1,000 mg freeze-dried green-lipped mussel powder contains: Omega-3 EPA + DHA: 9–28 mg Omega-3 ETA: 0.3 mg -Study: Hielm-Björkman et al. (2007) and Murphy et al. (2003) And another article mentioned that the oil can be multiplied by 12 to get the estimated amount of powdered form. 100mg x 12 = 1200mg of powdered GLM. But these are guesstimates, keep in mind. So if 1 serving (2 capsules) of GLX3 is roughly equivalent to 1200mg freeze-dried powder, it contains only about 22mg of regular omega 3s, plus around 0.3mg of ETAs. If ETAs are infact "hundreds" of times more powerful (let's say 500), then that would be equivalent to around 150mg of omega 3s. That's far below the 1290 or so from fish oil. The fish oil cost me $12 for 45 servings ($0.26/serving)), GLX3 costs $54 for 30 servings ($1.80/serving). So there's a mark up of 692% per serving (each serving is 6.92 times more expensive). Is it worth it? Hard to tell since 500 was just a guess at what "hundreds" meant. Now there is a study on the GLM website that states that GLM oil " is 158 times more effective in reducing inflammation than fish oils". They also claim that their capsule with 100mg GLM oil is roughly equivalent to a large 1000mg fish oil capsule. If that's true, then normalizing my previous fish oil with 1290mg of fish oil per serving or 58050mg (45 servings) per bottle, you'd divide by 158 and get 367mg/bottle, vs GLX3's 3000mg of GLM per bottle. Wow that sure flips things around. If you look at the cost per mg then, my previous supplement was about $0.032/mg, and GLX3 is about $0.018/mg, which is 0.56% or roughly half the cost. But, here's the thing. The study actually tested "A lipid-rich extract, preparared by supercritical fluid extraction of fresh stabilized mussel powder (Lyprinol)," i.e. it sounds like it wasn't testing just GLM oil, but an extract from it (from a competitor called Lyprinol), which would of course be more powerful. So can you trust the claim the company is making? Maybe in essence, but the actual numbers not so much. I'd like to hear more about what portion of GLM oil contains the same extract, and to see a study comparing GLM oil directly to fish oil I believe GLM oil does have additional benefits above and beyond fish oil. But a transcript from Ben Greenfield Fitness podcast (he is a biohacker) from episode 132 on March 5, 2014 mentioned in relation to a *different* supplement: "the reason that they put the green-lipped mussel in there is that apparently, it provides a source of vitamins, minerals, proteins, enzymes and carbohydrates, particularly something called a mucopolysaccharide, which is kind of a long-chain carbohydrate that could be good for your cartilage. You can get most of that stuff from less expensive foods that you eat, and I remember that at 1 point, someone sent me a big jar of pearl extract to improve bone mineralization and to help with calcium intake and I wrote back and I said, “Is there any evidence to this, if there’s any better than me popping like a calcium supplement or maybe drinking milk, eating yogurt, having some dark leafy greens and there’s absolutely no studies that compared this stuff to just taking in real food or less expensive calcium sources, and it’s kind of the same thing with this; if I’ going to pay for green-lipped mussel, I want to see the study that says that the mucopolysaccharide carbohydrates and the green-lipped mussel are any better than the type that I would get from say, going out and grabbing some oysters or taking in some inexpensive sea food. So, the idea is that you just want to go look at the research and I couldn’t find any research that says that the green-lipped mussel is superior to anything else." This information is outdated, but he makes a good point that for these side benefits for cartilage, there may be less expensive ways to get the same benefits. I do love that these supplements are SO tiny. It's really great for travel, provided you have a smaller tinted glass container (around 60% of the glass container is EMPTY when you order 60 capsules -- i.e. the bottle is much larger than i needs to be, merely to accommodate the label and to compete for shelf space with your other supplements). Sadly there aren't that many studies yet on GLM. Most of the information out there also tends to still be in the pet world (because in America, we care more about our pets than ourselves, it seems!). The biggest red flag to me about this company, GLX3 is their fluff articles. Their articles frequently come up in search results due to being keyword optimized. However, they 1) rarely answer the question they pose!! 2) are highly repetitive (in order to come up in results) 3) are *badly written* (Beyond simply not answering the question, they make really obvious mistakes like "there are only 2 other ingredients: <lists one>" lol). It's clear that a marketer, rather than a scientist, is writing these articles. 1. Do I believe that GLM is superior to fish oil? Yes 2. Is there a way to accurately know your intake of Omega-3s from GLX3? Not really... 3. Is GLX3 worth the cost? Yes, if you're traveling and have a smaller medicine-appropriate bottle. Otherwise rather hard to tell due to #2. As you can tell from above I got wildly different calculations based off different information. 4. Is GLX3 reputable? Their questionable business practices/marketing may not reflect the quality of their product. So even though there's a lack of transparency, and a lot of horrible fluff SEO articles, it could technically still be a good product. 5. Is their dosing accurate? Hard to tell and you just have to trust them. Their dosing can vary from 2 capsules 1x/day to 3x/day. Without information on how much this gives you in Omega 3s, it's hard to tell how often you should take it. I have posted several questions asking 1) what is the % of their GLM oil that is made up of omega-3s and 2) what % is made up of ETA. I will update this review if I receive that information. I'd also like to know if they have a study available on how much more powerful ETA is compared to other Omega 3s. Because that's seemingly the main thing that could help make this product stand up to the competition. P.S. They have mentioned that their GLM oil is more bioavailable -- i'd like to see an estimate of how much of a benefit this is compared to a typical fish oil as well. There are concentrated fish oils that are supposed to help with this as well. Even estimates would be helpful, at least to determine how often i should take a serving.

Try this!
Sometimes you do not know if taking a supplement helps or it is the placebo effect, however, when I forget to take it, the pain in my knee increases and soon eases off after I consume two doses. It is tasteless, odorless, and it works for me. It seems expensive to me, but what value does one put on a pain free walk?
