Doppelduffel Adventure Bag

What an excellent bag. It seems this was engineered for every contingency. Multiple carry and exterior and interior options. If you don't want to use it as a back pack, there is a place to tuck the straps away and zipper it closed. You can carry it like a brief case or side carry it over one shoulder. I have counted about four different carry options. Very sturdy and quite roomy for the size of the pack. I may even be able to carry this on to a plane, but it might be a bit big for that. Plenty of pockets and compartments for separating items. Exterior pockets for those things you need to get at more easily. At first glance, like a lot of the maxpedition items, it appears expensive, but this is my third maxpedition item and I am ever so pleased with all of them. Well worth the price and something that is going to serve its purpose, highlight your personality and practicality, and last a lifetime.

I love this bag. I got it to replace a similar type bag from eagle creek that was a little lighter and smaller that my gf has decided belongs to her. So if you're looking for something less tactical I'd take a look at Eagle Creek. That being said I love this bag. Yes its expensive, but man this thing is quality through and through. Do Note, that when I ordered it the picture showed a black bag with beige zippers and detail--looked sick as f**k. But the one I got was all black... which I think I prefer for actual use. It has plenty of compression staps, solid zippers, and zip up internal space dividers. It has a padded carry handle on top, a messenger bag style sling strap with multiple attachment points, backpack straps that are stow-able, and carry handles on the small sides. All that, and its got a top pocket, a side pocket that runs the long with some pockets, two internal mesh pockets on the lid, and pals webbing. Its been dragged and dropped and over packed and closed in vehicle doors, latched to tops of trucks and its still going strong. So while it is expensive, this is a case where you're getting what you pay for. As to wether or not you actually need all that, thats entire up to you and your pursuits. The biggest down side of this bag is how easy it is to get heavy. Oh sure I'll throw that in, it will fit. Yeah might as well clip that on two. Oh I can strap my toiletry bag on the outside, so more room inside for something else, etc etc etc. Stuffed, it will definitely not fit in the carry on sample bin. However I have gotten it on stuffed, strapped to my back and had no problems fitting in the over head bins. Also when its medium full, it will fit in the sample bin. So far this bag has been good to me, on hot asphalt, wet muddy forest floors, furnace desert sands, freezing rocky crag's and strapped to chrome and steel vehicle bars. I thinks its safe to say this bag is much tougher then me and will accompany to any adventure I can dream up.

I really like this bag and that is saying a lot because I am a bag hound. I just traveled 3 weeks in Europe with this bag and it could not have worked any better for my purposes. It was just the right size for me. I love that you can wear it like a backpack or tuck away those straps if you want. The extra little pockets here and there were also great. I mean what exactly can you say about a bag? I love it. Mine is still quite new so hard to say about how long it will last but I will say it seems like this one will last. The material seems very strong and durable. And I like all the loops to strap things onto it if needed. big thumbs up. ***Almost forgot*** I was able to carry this on one time. I didn't have it loaded up and I got away with carrying it on. Pretty cool

I'm a big fan of Maxpedition, and this bag is a great example of why. It is very well designed, and the materials and workmanship are top notch. The exterior is Maxpedition's typical heavy duty fabric, and all the seams are double stitched. All the stress points are box stitched. The interior is well designed for a several day trip. I like the fact that the interior dividers are zippered so you can have them up for shors trips where you don't have a lot of stuff and just want to keep things organized, but you can drop them for longer trips where you need more room. The compression straps are very heavy duty and do their job well. The buckles are strong and click together positivity. I fully expect this bag to fulfill my expectations of Maxpedition gear, which is to be used hard and last for many years. I have yet to wear out anything with the Maxpedition name on it, and I have used some of their packs daily through hard use for years.

First off, I love the bag. Typical top notch maxpedition quality. The 1000D nylon is tough and should hold up well. I bought this bag to replace a north face base camp duffel I used for sporadic travel 4-5 times a year for up to a week at a time. The backpack straps are comfortable and the option to stow them away is a great touch. Bag offers just enough organization options with a few exterior pockets. I can think of just a couple negatives to point out. First is the traditional duffel bag strap. The attachment method makes the bag ride off axis and sideways, I hate that so i use the backpack option. Secondly the bag is designed with kind of sloping sides where in the center of the bag has the most depth. While this makes for a cool looking bag its terrible for packing a stuffed full bag and makes for some frustration. Lastly, and some other reviews have mentioned this, the bag is smaller than it appears. Hasnt been an issue yet but it is noticeable.

Look like it can last a long time but it can look a bit less "tactical" so that it can blend in as a normal bag. The price is unbeatable and would actually be buying another one but unfortunately, the priced changed after I bought mine. Looking forward to using it often.

Ladies and Gentlemen, what a bag, this is exactly what I've been looking for. Lots of pouches with the ability to add using the Molle. I will never need to buy another kit bag, ever!

Good looking and very well made.No 'stud'/feet on under side so could wear more here.this is nowhere near as big as it looks..I was going to get the fliegerduffel thinking this too large but this the size I expected the fliegerduffel would be!.not as many pockets as you expect from max p..if you look at the picture it gives the appearance of seperately accessible compartments at either end..not so, just one large compartment with non rigid zipped-in dividers,the only access to main store is by completly opening the main zip.handle is mounted to 'lid' so you cant tote it with lid open for access to contents!.overall not as practical for all uses but well made and funky looking ideal for uncomplicated b&b weekends.
