Ultimate in minimalistic server.
For the price, you get exactly everything you need for a headless server - memory, ethernet, a microSD slot, low power consumption, and even a USB port in case you want to connect to a wifi network or provide a serial console to another machine. Performance is excellent and power is almost never more than 1/2 an amp. If someone made a PCI bracket mount for this, I'd install these in all of my colocated servers.

Very confusing information about Operating Systems and use as a RPI replacement.
Had planned on some VOIP applications and found that software developers had not yet properly developed and tested with this SBC.

Actually received a v1.3 not v1.4 as shown.
Note that I received a NanoPi Neo v1.3, not a v1.4 as shown in the photos. Very happy with it.

Don't buy this for UART use.
The UART implementation on these is garbage and not turned on by default/a huge hassle to enable and still doesn't work well. Otherwise there are good operating systems you can run and it works well. I'm using it to run mainsail for two 3d printers via a USB hub and it could easily handle more.

Excellent pi
Nice pi with ethernet. Perfect for a dns server. Update: Had this over a year now and am running home assistant in a docker container as well. I made a heat sync for it, but not sure it was needed as cpu usage is very low with just home assistant and a dns server on it.

a great little gadget
for a lot less money than a RaspberryPi, this will handle many of the same tasks. If all you need is a headless system (no screen) this will work great. I was able to install Armbian very easily, and then got this setup and running as a Pi-hole server in about 20 minutes. would also work great for a simple NAS, print server or webserver.
