Metal Cats Coloring Book

My five cats bought this book for my boyfriend for his birthday, and he was very entertained with it! The pictures are fantastic, not only because of the adorable cats and outrageous heavy metal rockers, but because of the subtle details about their lives which can be gleaned from the backgrounds. My boyfriend enjoyed identifying the t-shirts and posters, and I liked looking at the room décor. The bonus is that proceeds from this book go to non-kill shelters.

So much personality comes through in Crockett's photos, both in the men depicted and the cats. There are no boring images in here. Her innovative use of lighting make the apartments and houses in the backgrounds also part of the personality of each photo. It's almost documentary as much as portrait and yet you feel each photo has a story. Funny, ironic, candid, dramatic, the photos are a perfect example of how pets humanize their owners, too. A fantastic gift for any metalhead in your life or any cat lover.

My only complaint is the layout of this digital version. The credits at the end name each band member, cat's name and the bands each artists were in by page number. For some reason some artists photos are not in this digital version but they left glaringly empty pages instead I think it ruins the flow. (Alex)andra who did this book was such a cool person! And it was for a great cause. The band's I were in were not metal bands but I was born and bred a metal boy and was honored to be included. I'm still giving it 5 stars. I don't want my photo taken out because I'm a little complaining b**** LOL

Adorable, humorous, and interesting. I absolutely love the idea behind this book, was a must pre-order when I first saw it on Amazon. Finally received it today and as expected, it lives up to its title. Brutal and kvlt metalheads snuggling and showing off their adorable kitties! The book begins with an great heartfelt introduction by Bariann Tuite, then you get pages and pages of awesome unique photograph after awesome photograph - lots of the metalheads personality shining through in each individual photograph with their beloved felines. My only complaint is that I wish that the band members names were listed on the pages - there is a great index in the back of the book, however, but there is a lot of blank, black spaces under and beside a lot of the photos. Seeing the metalhead's name and their band logo would have been nice, but that doesn't stop this book from being a must purchase for any metalhead who loves cats! The photography is great, nice mixture of different genres of metal guys, and great quality thick pages. Makes a great coffee table book but another great thing is that a portion of the proceeds will go towards no-kill shelters. Recommend!

She has done an amazing job of portraying these furry felines, famous for their standoffish and self centered personalities with their person, who has his own reputation for being somewhat unapproachable. Great fun and a nice reminder that all of are very complex.

I absolutely love the concept for this. So many of the dudes in this are adorable and the cats look so full of personality. My main issue, however, is that a lot of the photos are webcam quality and the printing is kind of... weird on a lot of pages. Like a photo that takes up one page and 1/3 of the next page, and then the remaining 2/3rds are black, then on another page it's the same thing but the extra space is white. I guess it's supposed to be gritty and imperfect because that's more underground and Metal, but it might have been a touch too kvlt for my tastes. There are still plenty of gems in the book though, so this metalhead does not regret the purchase even if it's a little less professional looking than she prefers.

Love, love, love this book. Wish there was volume 2 and Metal Dogs, Bunnies, Ferrets...

It is a truth universally acknowledged that metalheads love cats :) Lots of cute pictures, so heart-warming and touching. And the book helps cat shelters, too!

Das ideale Geschenk für Metal Heads und ihre Cats. Mein Freund war begeistert von den teilweise ziemlich schrägen Bildern. Unsere Katze fands auch cool. Wahrlich frappierend ist die Ähnlichkeit zwischen den Besitzern und ihren Kuscheltigern. Wie gesagt, schräger gehts nimmer.

Veramente un libretto da avere per chi, come me, ama i gatti e la musica. Non è vero come scrivono che i soggetti nelle foto non sono identificati, c'è un elenco alla fine del libro. Certo, sarebbe stato carino inserire una descrizione in ogni foto, anche per capire con chi abbiamo a che fare e qualche dettaglio sul rapporto gatto/artista, ma anche così è gradevole e simpatico.
