Make your bike your truck!
I used the Quick Release version of this adapter on my Montague Paratrooper, and it works very nicely! The hardest part is reversing the QR skewer to that the lever is on the same side as the derailleur, but after that, the adapter replaces the nut easily, and the hitch for Burley (or - hint, hint - most other hub-mounted trailers) bolts right on. Next up will be my Tern HSD P9+ for grocery hauling duty.

Solution to my problem
So I bought a new bike and wanted to connect a bike trailer to pill my son around. My bike has a hooded shroud that prevented good connection with the trailer hitch. i used this to extend the part of the bike that is supposed to mate with the hitch... this will work with ANY trailer hitch brand... if a hooded shroud on your bike is preventing you from connecting any king ok adapter, this is for you.

Absolutely perfect
Ok so it's definitely odd at first putting this on a marlin 7 gen 2 but it works perfectly with stock QR axles the tiny ones and threads on perfectly just make sure it's stupidly tight if it's for anything over 100lbs like my trailer it seems ok I will update if it fails or breaks but I belive it should be ok if u don't yank it forward or anything constantly if u do I could see it bending the QR axle slightly but if u know how to ride it's perfect for me and made it super easy to take wheel off and on without all the hassle of the adapter having to go inside the QR each time the wheel came off I daily this and it definitely will last if it's what u need definitely recommend

Works for a Copilot hitch
I have a Copilot trailer and needed a way to attach the hitch to my Breezer bike. It has a closely-shrouded dropout. This Burley adapter works quite nicely. I was able to cinch it down (finger tight only), slip over the hitch, and use the included nut to hold it together. I used a 5/16" star washer to help lock the nut in place. As other reviewers have pointed out, the QR skewer is run through the axle in the opposite direction so that the lever ends up on the cassette side of the bike. The adapter acts as the skewer's nut; the original nut won't be used.

Just what I needed
Was frustrating that my local supplier was not able to get this and I had to order it overseas, luckily the wait wasn’t long and I had it within the week.

Exactly what I needed
Have a hooded drop out on my Surly and this cleared that and made a safe attachment.

Here's how you make this work
This adapter is a bit tricky, but by reading through the reviews and using some common sense, you can make it work. First off, shame on Burley for not providing a better product, like an included quick release skewer that somehow locks to this adapter. Here's what I ended up doing and it's rock solid: 1. As another suggested, I purchased a heavy-duty CycleOps Trainer Skewer. It's about twice the thickness of my high-end Velocity touring skewer and I don't think it will ever bend or break. 2. Installed a 5/16" star washer on the adapter threads. 3. Coated the threads with medium strength BLUE loctite. 4. Installed the nut nice and snug. 5. Waited a full 48 hours for the loctite to cure/harden before using. The result: I've put around 60lbs. in the trailer (I'm actually using the trailer as a stealth cargo trailer -- I purposefully sought out a child's trailer because it's a documented fact that vehicles will give a bicycle + child trailer a very wide berth), jerked the heck out of it trying to get the hitch to move and it hasn't budged at all. So, you can make this work, but I suggest spending an extra $15 to ensure it doesn't work itself loose. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!

Didn't work for long
Kept working itself loose, and in an effort to get it even tighter, I snapped the axle of a Dura-Ace quick release. Then I used a cheap spare qr that I had sitting around, and it lasted about two weeks before it bent during a ride after it loosened up. I didn't use a torque wrench because I couldn't get it in there, but it was tight. Clearly not tight enough, but as I said I actually snapped an axle trying to get it really tight. Rather than ruin another quick release, I used a grinder to round the top corner of the forged hitch. This allowed the hitch to seat properly on the dropout without hitting the end of the carbon seatstay. Problem solved.

ロード乗りには必需品

Just what I needed
Spent ages researching and looking for a solution to my mounting problem. Then sombody suggested this adaptor. I have a Haibike Sduro Trekking, and had the issue where I could not mount my hitch because my kickstand was in the way. Being a heavy e-bike, I could not get an aftermarket kickstand, I had to use the one bolted to the frame. This adaptor screws onto the quick release axle and bring the hitch out an inch or so just enough to clear the kick stand. Perfect :)

Works on other trailers
Despite Burley's claim that using this adapter on another brand trailer could "cause injury or death," I have survived my first outing on my Aosom trailer. I'm glad at least one company out there makes an adapter for hooded drop-outs.

Klasse Produkt! Preis-Leistung unschlagbar
