Small, portable, great for kids!
We bought this to use as a child fishing rod rather than getting the classic character ones that always break or tangle. It was a great choice! He has caught some really large fish with it and it holds up well!

Unbreakable Catch!
Finally- A rod my son canโt break. The ultimate for durability. I tried to adjust the photo lighting so you can see the length of the rod. There is a reason everyone recommends an Ugly Stik for beginners and kids. It takes a beating and keeps on fishing. Two fish in one week and zero broken parts is a 10/10 for any parent! Itโs perfect for teens because itโs Virtually Indestructible: The graphite and fiberglass blend (Ugly Tech) is incredibly forgiving. Itโs also portable and easy to transport without worrying about the tip snapping in the car or on the way to the water. The reel folds in also. It is reliable and it just works. No bells or whistles needed when the build quality is this solid. It has a smooth feel and great castability and there were no missing parts.

Good rod for what it is.
For what it is, it is actually a decent little rod. I bought it for a second pole when creek crawling that wont get snagged in brush/ trees. And an easy rod to toss when traveling. My first time out I caught several fish along with a 16" smallie in current. The real isnt great, but its passable.

Great fishing rod, finicky spinning reel
This is a steal for a great little fishing rod and an okay reel. Great price for the rod, and having a spinning reel is pretty cool even if the reel itself is a bit rough. The rod is the perfect size for kids, or for if you want something small to take in a kayak, or as an in-a-pinch ice fishing pole. I've always liked the durability of Ugly Stick rods, and having one in this convenient size is a huge win at this price. Five stars for the pole. The spinning reel is sub-par. I'd give it 2 stars alone. The snap-close of the bail was REALLY stiff. Terrible for kids just learning how to use a spinning reel. I took a screwdriver to it and loosened the screws on both sides of the bail and that helped a lot. I think it's always going to be a little bit tricky though, especially if your reel rotation is right before the catch-point and you don't have any spin momentum to help close the bail. That aside, I swapped out the stock reel for an $11 Zebco casting reel, and my 5 year old spent the evening practicing his casts. Couldn't be happier with the pole and "free" spinning reel it came with. ;)

Great Rod for Panfish/Trout
Great rod, I use the larger 6โ Ugly stik combo and wanted this one as an easy one to use on the go for creek fishing. Itโs super light and provides a very satisfying fight when reeling in any fish. I use a very light braided line and it makes any little bluegill or trout feel like a PB. I would definitely recommend it to anyone fishing for smaller fish or just wanted something they can bring with them on the fly. I keep it in my vehicle and so if Iโm ever out at a park and I see a body of water with fish Iโm not wishing I brought a rod as I now always have one ready. Iโve caught plenty of blue gill, trout, creek chubs and even some bullheads in this rod so far.

Small Rod, Surprisingly Strong
These little Ugly Stik Dock Runner combos are awesome for what they are. The short 3-foot rod is fun and easy to use, and both kids and adults enjoy fishing with it. Even though it is small, it is surprisingly strong, and we have actually landed fish over 20 pounds with these. The reel is a good match for the rod and being pre spooled makes it ready to use right away. Great value, very durable, and I cannot wait for them to be back in stock so I can buy more.

Fantastic fishing pole!
I received the rod and reel yesterday and took it out today to go find out what species was in a nearby pond. This thing hauled in some smaller types of fish of different sizes. It worked perfectly for dock fishing! I have yet to catch bigger ones with this but for catching panfish and other smaller species, this thing works pretty well so far. I feel like a champ for absolutely scoring on a good working rod.....YESSSSS. UPDATE: After 5 outings using this pole, I can say it delivers well enough. I've caught fish every single time with it. Iโm updating with more pictures of the most recent creek adventure. It slayed a ton of creek chubs and shiners along with other species. The rod sensitivity is good. I can feel a fish swiping at my bait and are able to get a feel for when to set the hook. Overall, I caught about a dozen different types of aquatic swimmers in the stream with a few I didn't catch on camera b/c they spit the hook. Using a simple bait hook with worm along with a split shot, I was able to cast this thing out 15-20 meters to reel in some pretty cool looking rock bass, panfish, smallies, and other strange looking species. I even caught a 2 pound largemouth on a 1/16 oz. rooster tail with this pole. Unfortunately, I got overexcited at the catch and didnโt control the drag on the reel. The line snapped off just as I was about to land the sucker onto the bank. The 6 pound test line didnโt hold, but I wanna believe I could have landed that bass if I had better control of the drag. Operator error, my bad. Now one thing I wasn't high about with this fishing pole was the reel itself. After the 4th and 5th time out, the handle on the reel began to stick and it isnโt a smooth retrieve anymore after a few hours usage. Iโm definitely switching out the reel. The pre-spooled line overall was ok however, Iโm looking to change that out probably with some Berkley trilene fluoro as well b/c why the heck not? This has been just such an easy rod to carry and use. I store it in the trunk of my car so that if I pass through random places with potential fishing spots, I'm able to hit the waters with a compact and convenient fishing pole to see what's living there. I really like it overall.

Cool little thing
Obviously the reel is meh but this little thing is hilarious and awesome. It would be great for children but it isnโt a kiddie rod. Itโs classic UglyStik invincibility and it casts great for being 36โ. I keep it in my truck for random fishing and I would buy another one.

Good combo
Real short rod for bait fishing off the boat and cast pretty good for the length not too stiff or flexy its just right imo

Best first time fishing rod ever.
I highly recommend this for a toddlers firts rod. I was looking for a fishing rod for my 3 year old son and in my search i saw a video on youtube of kids fishing with this rod. I know it might not be the specific purpose it was made for but it lends itself perfectly for a childs fishing rod. My boy loves it and it also withstands the beating only a first time angler can give. He also gets lots of compliments on it. Its quite a cool looking fishing rod.
