This steel blank is not worth what they are asking. When I received it, it had deep gouges in the metal which took forever to sand out. The metal isn't heat treated. It is very soft. You will have to do alot of sanding and you will most definitely have to heat treat. Do not waste your money.

Pretty significant inconsistencies in the thickness. I should have listened to the reviews. Not looking forward to sanding the blank flat.

Item was purchased as a gift for my Dad on Father's day. He enjoys making knives and was thrilled to receive this. Very pleased with this purchase and would recommend highly.

I have purchased this damascus for knife making in the past, and every time it has had cold welds in it. It isn't very high quality damascus, but it will do for lower end damascus knife making.

I received a piece of steel, they must've stamped the outside with a "damascus" pattern. I cut it to shape, and when i was grinding an edge the damascus look just faded. I would not recommend this to anyone. False advertisement.
