In The Swim Solvay Bicar Sodium Bicarbonate Alkalinity Up, 50 lbs.

I have purchased this 50 lb bag many times (over 10) for pool Alkalinity balancing since 2022. I store it inside my house, in a Vestil 3.5G plastic PAIL-SCR-35-W container (ASIN: B0052P26YG) in order to keep it away from humid air. Not all of the 50 lbs fits in this 3.5G container, so the remainder (maybe 8-9 lbs) I put in an outside container that I grab from for the pool. Storing it this way I have never had an issue with humidity affecting the product. This Sodium Bicarbonate product works great. It raises the alkalinity as much as I would expect (performs as expected). The price is one of the lowest I can find for this size (delivered), making it a great deal when compared to other options for raising pool alkalinity. Will continue to purchase.

The 50 lbs of baking soda will fit in a 5 gallon hard plastic bucket which I believe will make it easier to store and keep the baking soda safer than just leaving it in the bag. I also use a hard plastic scoop to get the baking soda out of the bucket. I am satisfied that the product is less expensive and safer to use than other chemical alternatives. My first use helped bring my PH and alkalinity levels into the “okay” range. The baking soda dissipates quickly when it is dispersed into the pool water.

It's.... baking soda. But it is good baking soda. Solved my pH problem. Make sure you break it up or use a sifter. Dissolves quickly.

Our pool was so acidic that it took all 50 pounds plus the about 15 pounds of the Alkalinity Up product to finally get it right. For the people who say that they put this in their pool and it did nothing, it is most likely because their pool is highly acidic like mine was.
