Sorbothane Double Strike Insoles

What can I say? I used to suffer from aching arches and my feet hurt so much as I stand and walk around all day at work, and when hiking and trekking my feet just hurt. Nothing worked before, the most expensive and comfortable German made boots went a long way but everything ultimately failed in regards Insole. I also used to develop athletes foot and varucas which were so annoying - as I couldn't understand why. then I came across these and I've been wearing em in every pair of boots I have. And they give a pair of boots another dimension in terms of comfort and make life so much easier. They're comfortable, support every part of your foot enabling walking to be so easy. I went for a 3 week trek in the hindu Kush mountains and I put these in my Hanwag boots - and they were wonderful. No amount of scree, rock or ice or hard ground and shock could combat these! I wear them to work, and stand and walk all day - and they give my feet and knees the support I need. I've had them (one pair I switch into every boot) since November and it;s now March and they're in tip top condition and still function as when i bought them and they've had some HARD use! And they must have some anti microbe treatment as I have NOT had any athletes foot nor verucas for AGES! Only downside is that they do raise your foot, so if your boot or shoe is quite narrow or tight, forget it!

I would recommend this product for the following reasons. They have alleviated pains in my shins and there is a better feeling as to where the shock of every step is going for instance, I might feel tightness in my calfs during or after using them but is definitely a more natural feeling due to the insole probably re-aligning the footstep and or because this insole has subconciously set your foot up for a better more comfortable experience. It's five weeks using them so far and 5 stars from me, worked well inside Cat boots but for Nike Air trainers I replaced the worn out Nike insole with these and it made them really comfy also.

I brought these to go in to my work shoes but unfortunately they are to thick. I wear steel toe capped shoes for work and these soles push my toes in to the steel as the are so thick. I'm a bit gutted as the soles themselves feel very comfortable. I have requested a return and gone for the thinner version

I use these insoles in my New Balance 890v4. These shoes have quite a bit of cushioning of themselves. Due to a sore hip I tried to make as less impact as possible when running. The run is very plush when using these in my 890's. Remove the insole provided with the shoes since these insoles are quite thick. Running in a straight line on a hard surface is ok although I noticed my ankles and the muscles around them had to adjust. Felt like a bit more strain on them. Having run for 60 km with them the ankles are used to the new insole and my hip problem isn't aggravating. Especially on a downhill section I notice the improved impact cushioning. Significantly better. The downside is that due to the thickness of the insoles and the high amount of cushioning in the 890's, you have to be careful on an uneven surface. When turning left or right while running I also notice less stability. Which is ok if you have strong ankles but if you need stability as well, you might want to go for less thick insoles. I have been using less thick insoles in the same shoes and now these. Less thick means more control and less cushioning. Running is a bit more enjoyable on the less thick insoles. But I have been going for the thicker insoles knowing it reduces strain on my body. And with an additional 60km on them, I am used to it. 09-2015 Having ran on the insoles for a few months now I have to say I am not going back to running without them. I have been running an average of 30 miles a week and this is more than I ran before I used these insoles. My hip problem is not gone but hasn't gotten worse either. With the increase in running I would expect that due to previous experience. But these insoles combined with good cushioning shoes do seem to do the trick. Second pair I ordered a month ago and that says enough. Every new pair of 890's will be accompanied with a pair of these. Takes a bit of getting used to and not for trail running. But if your on the road and no slaloming.....this will work!

The soles were too big so I couldn’t walk comfortably with these insoles in. I wouldn’t recommend based on this experience and would suggest something smaller

This is not the first time that I have purchased these particular insoles. They have been used in many pairs of walking boots and shoes. They have fantastic shock absorbance and are very comfortable under foot. They were delivered, well packaged and arrived a day earlier than predicted

Top notch insoles which replace the insert in your shoes or trainers etc. I've used sorbothane insoles for many years after first using them in my football boots when playing on hard grounds in the summer. My osteopath also recommended them when I found I had osteo-arthritis in both hips. They help to reduce impact on the joints and therefore, inflammation. There are many available, including this double strike type (sorbothane at the ball and heel of foot) which is quite chunky (and gives good support) and a full sorbothane insole which is a lot thinner. I have quite a few different ones as you never know which will fit best in a particular shoe or trainer. I have been very pleased with the double strike type I bought recently and would thoroughly recommend them. If you are buying for the first time, consider buying a double strike and a full sorbothane insole and see which shoes they suit best. You'll probably keep both and then buy some more!

Have wore these since the start of February (2014) in my Regatta hiking boots that I use daily. I've walked, ran, sprinted and dropped from walls with these with no problem and what feels like significantly lower amounts of shock compared to stock insoles and cheap ones from stores, have not had problems with smells from the insoles or causing my feet to sweat. Feet perfectly fine after all day use. Fit my boots perfectly though I understand this will vary from boot to boot, they work great in both my new and old pairs. Would buy insoles from Sorbothane again if these give up any time.
