SEDNA - PCI Express (PCIe) SATA III (6G) SSD Adapter with 1 SATA III port

Great item and unlike other reviews I have read it does work. The problem is that you need to BUY a code from either Amazon or direct from SEDNA themselves. I found this out when I bought one and it was seen by my system but nothing worked. I had to contact SEDNA to find out why this was. There are two different items at different prices. The cheaper one does not contain the code but the more expensive one does. It costs about £10 for a code. It would have been more helpful if this had been explained on the Amazon site and I could have bought one at the time.

Needs SATA power cable. Automatically installs with standard Windows AHCI driver, however if you try to run the software supplied on CD it fails. Had to do manual update of driver. Using a manufacturers driver is not essential but I usually install in case there are any optimisations. Chipset is ASMedia 106x. Ran CrystalDiskMark 5.0.2 and compared 2 Samsung SSD drives against motherboard SATA port and this card runs 25%-40% slower. Good value for money - if it does what you need. REMEMBER, disk needs a power cable but not SATA - which seems slightly counter-intuitive. Sedna do a second product part ref A2A3JJQ9VI2Y5P which powers drive from PCI Bus - which makes more sense for SSD.

You need to put power to the card in order to make it work. Performance was not as good as using the inbuilt SATA ports which was a real disappointment. (250MB/s was the max i could get).

Doing what is made for. No problem. Read carefully the specifications.

Totally useless, does not detect SSD or HDD so not completely useless, cheap is expensive.

Worked first time, only needed to reassign the ssd as the first boot drive and now another 3.5" drive bay is freed up for mass storage.

L'ho usato con una scheda madre Asus A88XM-Plus e come disco di boot per windows 10 e funziona perfettamente. Le 8 porte sata mi servivano per ricollegare gli 8 dischi sata da 2TB del pool storage di windows 10. Ho incrementato la scrittura da 10 a 30m/s sul pool e la lettura adesso satura la rete a 1GB. Il sistema ha riconosciuto il disco SSD correttamente e windows 10 ci si è regolarmente installato sopra. Il disco ssd è un vecchio crucial da 128gb sata 6gb. Sinceramente non ho notato nessuna differenza di prestazioni con la connessione sata 6gb tradizionale quindi non giova acquistarlo per questo.

Contrairement à ce qui est dit dans les commentaires, le matériel fonctionne parfaitement sans alimentation supplémentaire au port PCIe... Par ailleurs il est impossible d'ajouter une alimentation au disque branché, celui ci étant connecté sur un port SATA complet (données + alimentations) voir photo. Il est en revanche possible d'ajouter un second disque connecté en sata sur la carte, second disque qui devra être alimenté électriquement par un autre moyen que le port PCIe. Concernant l'adaptabilité du produit, bien que le packaging indique un produit vieillissant (inscription compatible Windows 7 maqué sur la boîte...) celui rempli parfaitement sa fonction, sans installation d'un quelconque driver. Testé sur Windows, Linux et OS TRUENAS sans encombre.

Si tu ordenador no tiene SATA-3 es una forma cómoda y económica de instalar un disco SSD SATA3. Además tendrás el disco duro agarrado a algún sitio y no colgando como lo dejamos muchas veces.

Not getting its power cable for macpro...upto now its useless for me...need 6 pin pcie to sata female as its not bus powererd...

Habe diese Karte für meinen Mac Pro 2009 gekauft, zum einen weil ich eine SSD mit vollem SATA3 verwenden wollte, zum anderen weil ich die 4 Festplattenschächte bereits gefüllt habe. In den Kundenfragen schreibt ein asiatischer Verkäufer, das ein entsprechendes Adapterkabel für die Stromversorgung mitgeliefert wird. Das war bei Avides nicht der Fall! Die Karte benötigt eine SATA Stromversorgung um zu funktionieren, leider habe ich im Netz noch keinen Adapter von PCIe Power OUT auf SATA Power IN gefunden, nur umgekehrt.. (der Mac Pro hat nur PCIe Stromanschlüsse..) - Hier werde ich eventuell noch einen eigenen bauen müssen, derweil habe ich einfach ein zusätzliches ATX Netzteil auf dem Mac Pro liegen, wessen SATA Kabel durch eine freie PCI Öffnung ins Gehäuse kommt. Ist zwar nicht die optimalste Lösung, aber es funktioniert. (Das zusätzliche Netzteil habe ich mit einem Draht kurzgeschlossen, so startet es automatisch wenn ich die Steckerleiste für den Mac einschalte) Werde die Tage noch ein Kundenfoto nachreichen. Wenn man über das Problem mit der Stromversorgung wegsieht, funktioniert die Karte einwandfrei. Ich habe darauf eine Crucial M50 installiert, die Installation von Yosemite war überhaupt kein Problem, die Karte wurde sofort erkannt und konnte ohne weiteres über das Festplattendienstprogramm auf dem Boot-USB-Stick formatiert werden. Den zusätzlichen SATA Anschluss auf der Karte habe ich (noch) nicht ausprobiert. Falls jemand einen gesuchten Adapter kennt, dann wäre ich über einen Kommentar dankbar! :-)
