Can this be used as a primer for regular emulsion or fo I need a separate primer?

It is very thick and coats metal surfaces well. I think it will take an emulsion paint but you need to keep in mind that an acrylic may inhibit its moisture absorbing properties.

Would this paint help condensation inside kitchen cupboards?

I can’t say for certain. But it’s really helped on my kitchen and bathroom ceiling

Can this be painted over with a top coat?

Yes. No problem. Painted over existing paint work with Coo Var in kitchen then overpainted with Dulux kitchen paint easily. Appears to have done the trick re condensation problems.

can this be used on metal?

Yes, instructions say prime bare metal with Coo-Var all metals primer.
