Product Description I personally feel this is a great record and recommend it to everyone. Its positive and hot and simply excellent. Gary Burton, in the liner notes. desertcart.co.uk Larger ensembles may have provided Pat Metheny with his most visible successes, but he's repeatedly fired up his most fluid and personal playing in leaner trio settings, starting with this, his 1976 debut as a leader. Bob Moses brings both delicacy and effortless dynamics to his drumming, but it's the late Jaco Pastorius's lyrical electric bass that clinches the guitarist's coming-out party: with Metheny already displaying the liquid tone and exquisite touch that define his sound, old friend Pastorius radiates a sympathetic lyricism and unerring sense of swing. Metheny would match but not transcend this level of interplay in justly celebrated troikas with Charlie Haden and Billy Higgins (on Rejoicing) and Dave Holland and Roy Haynes (on Question and Answer). --Sam Sutherland Review: Pat can not go wrong! - Another excellent album by the great Pat Metheny. Atmospheric and esoteric. Great listening. Review: I wish I'd bought this years ago. - Superb album that I have been hearing mentioned a lot lately on a certain YT channels. I had heard various tracks over the years but somehow never got round to buying it. Very pleased to be able to play the whole album now.

A well packaged music CD in perfect condition on arrival.
The latest music CD to add to my collection arrived well packaged and in mint condition as described. This is a very reliable service that I regularly use when ordering CD's. Oh, and if you are a fan of fusion jazz/rock I highly recommend this Pat Metheney album. One of his best earlier works. Superb listening.

Excellent stuff
This is great - a real grower and an album to enjoy for years to come. It hasn't aged, there's plenty of space in the recording allowing the trio to work their magic around some great compositions. Recommended!

Harmonically innovative and beautifully rendered compositions as you would expect from Pat and his team. I've had the tape for years but lost it. I can recommend the CD for audio clarity. I remember going on solitary winter walks with this playing on my Walkman in the late 80's. Old railway lines and fields, covered in morning frost with a winter sun. The music provided warmth and friendship and the occasional piece like Sirabhorn and Mid Western Nights Dream provided a stark almost bleak accompaniment to the landscape and sound of my footsteps below.

Inexpressibly brilliant!
This record is one of the best dicoveries I ever made. I don't think any record since Davis' 'Kind Of Blue', Zappa's 'Lather' or Stravinsky's 'Soldier's Tale' has had such an effect on me! It's just superb, a must for any guitarist or anyone with any taste for that matter. I just can't wait to get hold of more of Pat's work, and there is plenty of it. Buy it, buy it NOW!

Simply Stunning!
Metheny's solo debut, backed by the incomparable Jaco Pastorius on bass and Bob Moses on drums: a sign of what was to come for the next 45+ years!
