Easy set up, and easier app functionality
I purchased this after dealing with Roomba issues for almost 2 years, and this Shark vac has made all of the difference. It actually finds it's docking station every single time, even when I've stacked boxes around it. It follows the mapping very well, and if it happens to end up on the carpet, it still performs very well! The app is easy to navigate for last second changes. I have an Australian Shepherd that sheds like crazy, and brings grass into the house. I picks it up without issues, the 45 day capacity is an extra bonus meaning I don't have to empty it almost everyday. I will warn you though, the self cleaning is very loud for a few seconds (If you have sleeping babies in the area, I would schedule the end time outside of naptime.)

Shark robot vacuum
After 3 other brand robots. I decided to go with the Shark for the easy to empty debris bucket, no vacuum bags required. The robot is easy to program, the settings for "no go zones" work well. The Shark cleans very well; I am surprised how much cat hair and dirt get picked up. The Shark is quieter than the competitor. The mapping feature in the app is user friendly, displaying a good representation of the floor space. I've had this for a month and am pleased with the vacuum performance. This model is a great buy, good performance medium cost. Recommend!

Didn’t last a year and terrible warranty policy
General issues: I bought a regular shark vacuum and was so impressed so I trusted this brand to purchase their robot vacuum. I was deeply disappointed. It’s been 10 months, the brush roll does not self clean as it claimed, I loose the front spinning brush every clean when it goes over the feet of my standing desk, then my cats would play with it, can’t find the part so I had to buy extra. The initial mapping is a pain because you have to make absolutely sure the path is clean. If it makes a mistake and did not discover an area you meant for it find, you’ll have to delete the entire map for it to do it all over again. It can only remember one map at a time, which makes this even more difficult. Mapping issue in depth: So because I always loose that front brush, I decided to put it into the basement, and see if it would work better there, and it just would not map the basement. Most of the time, it comes out of the doc, does a full spin, then goes right back to the doc. I wasted my entire afternoon to try and clean the sensor, the brush roll and pretty much everything. I finally got it to scan 70% of the basement, and I told it to clean, it does that one spin and going back to doc thing again. 1 out of 4 times it would actually go around the corners, but it only does a small circle which is a few feet away from the doc, no vacuuming in between, and goes straight back to the doc. The screenshot I shared is the furthest it went, and no, this map does not reflect our entire basement. Warranty issue: So it’s been less than a year, for sure I can get warranty involved. I called them, they sent me a zoom call to trouble shoot. Watched me cleaning and testing, and it’s doing the same thing. So shark said they’d honor the warranty, but would not cover for the shipping fee for me to send it back. Besides that, I need to keep a list of parts because those would not be replaced. Ok. Now I have to figure out which part exactly they are talking about, caz if I don’t I’ll probably end up spending more money on shipping. For a product to have this serious issue, shark has left the customer to not only pay for their mistake, but pass all the trouble for us to solve is very disappointing. I will no longer purchase any shark products in the future.

Better than the Roomba s9+ that I tried
I had 2 robot vacuums. An Ecovacs Deebot N79S, and a Roomba 694. When the Deebot quit on me after 2 years, I decided to upgrade to a model with mapping technology. I decided on this model due to it's relative low cost with automatic emptying and good back and forth vacuuming method. The first thing I noticed is that it's quieter than both of my older vacuums, although this may be due to using the default MEDIUM suction setting. MEDIUM has worked so far so I have not changed it from that. It is also VERY thorough in cleaning. First it cleans along the perimeter of the room then changes to the interior. Once one room is done, it moves to the next. You will have to do an initial mapping of your desired cleaning area first so it knows where all the furniture, walls, and stairs are. After that initial mapping you can set 'no-go' zones. Most setup and interaction with the vacuum is done though a smartphone app, although there are very basic buttons i.e. on/off/return to dock on the vacuum itself. This vacuum uses LiDAR location technology so it does a real good job of vacuuming everywhere but you will have to pick up small objects off the floor because it will not see them. I had to put bumpers near the pet bowls because it was pushing them around and spilling them. You can set up 'no-go' zones in the app but I have not been able to get them to work properly yet. Hopefully Shark will put out a firmware update that will fix this. The auto-emptying dock is a lot quieter than the Roomba S9+ dock that I tried. The S9+ dock was as loud as a shop vac, if you've ever heard one of those. The S9+ also pushed around most of the small carpets I had at the entrances from outside. This vacuum does not. Unfortunately, you will have to clean the HEPA filter on the vacuum itself every 2-3 cleanings. It clogs up quickly and being NON-REPLACEABLE, it's a pain to have to clean.
