Delicious and it expands after soaking overnight
Although these particular Garbanzo beans appear small compared to most locally available options, looks can be deceiving. I prepared these beans by washing them several times in warm water and then soaking them overnight. By the time I drained them in the morning, they had expanded significantly, as shown in the photo next to the unopened bag. I cooked them in my Instant Pot for 35 minutes, and they turned out soft and delicious. I found these beans to be of high quality; they were clean and free from any impurities. This brand offers great value, and I will likely purchase it again in the future.

Wonderful dry beans to cook.
My family eats many types of beans every day. The dry beans from Amazon are well packaged, cook up perfectly, and are delicious. They are also affordable. I have a standing delivery each month.

Consistently good quality and price
My local grocery store doesn't carry dried chickpeas so I have to order from Amazon when I need them. I've ordered 8+ bags so far since I got an instantpot to cook my own beans instead of buying canned and I've found them to be consistently high quality and they cook great in the IP. Out of 5 bags I've used so far I've only had to discard one or two chickpeas per bag. Add to that that these are priced lower than Walmart charges for 16oz bags of dried beans and it's a really great deal.

Great price, flavour and storability!
Great value, especially when used in an instant pot. I make a lot of hummus and starting with dried garbanzo beans, I find, makes a big difference in the smoothness and flavour. It's also considerably cheaper and shelf stable, as well as easier to store than heavy cans. With my instant pot, there's no need to soak any beans overnight.

Life altering
I'm not going to lie, I had high hopes for these garbanzo beans. My life was missing a certain... legume-shaped hole, and I knew these were the ones to fill it. When the Amazon box arrived, I felt a surge of adrenaline usually reserved for opening a new gadget. The packaging was immaculate. The beans themselves, a beautiful beige, were a sight to behold. And oh, did they deliver. These beans did the bean stuff. They soaked up water exactly as advertised. They simmered to perfection, not too firm, not too mushy. They blended into a hummus so sublime, it could make you weep with joy. They held their shape in a salad with the stoic dignity of a Roman emperor. I've had beans that were flaky, beans that were defiant, but these beans? These beans were professionals. If you are in the market for some garbanzo beans that are reliable, unwavering, and truly, genuinely good at being garbanzo beans, look no further. Five stars. Would bean again.

Versatile and healthy! Very good value & great taste.
At my local supermarket the price for a 16oz package of generic dried Garbanzo Beans is usually $1.99. On sale it's $1.66 at the supermarket. Amazon's price is only around a dollar. A fantastic deal! The beans themselves were clean, easy to prepare, and the flavor/taste was great! They came in double plastic bags. The BEST IF USED BY label was over 10 months away. I'm glad I bought 5 packages. I'll buy more for humus, salads, soups, veggie-burgers, and fried chickpea snacks.

Excellent quality in May/June 2025
I feel like this is the kind of review that needs a timestamp because unfortunately quality of what used to be called "dry goods" (flour, nuts, rice, dry beans, etc.) can ebb and flow based on farm sourced and a particular harvest, with an increasingly few # of notable brands really holding the quality from year to year. (Reviews of this product's quality has varied over time.) And it's 2025: the food storage methods that used to be the domain of "preppers" now extend to folks trying to stay ahead of potential supply chain or pricing issues. These beans are, indeed, small. I have yet to find dark spots or other signs of spoilage. Raw or sprouted, they cook up very nicely with a good texture in my Instant Pot, without soaking (one of the things for which Instant Pot is famous). They sprout really well, with few duds and no telltale odor to indicate general non-viability/rotting under sprouting conditions. They are not glyphosate free, and although I think we are approaching a point where that will be too much of an issue for the food industry to avoid, glyphosate-free right now comes at a cost. I am using a foodsaver & sealing bags to seal up these beans in 1 lb portions. Safe from moisture and air, I expect they'll keep past their expiration date - 11 months out I think -- although I expect germination viability for sprouting to go steadily down.
