I bought these so I would have steel-toed boots if I needed them to get a job in a warehouse or factory or something. I've been unemployed for the 2 years I've worn them though, and have only used them for daily dog walks, mowing the lawn, and occasional day jobs. I have not submerged them in water or anything harmful, and have periodically rehydrated the leather with Hubbard's Shoe Grease to keep the leather in good condition. In spite of the fact that they've never really been put to work as work boots, they're falling apart. Not only has one sole almost completely fallen off, the insoles are also peeling apart. Also, the patch of leather that goes around the heel inside one of the boots is disintegrating.I do not recommend buying these if you work on a farm or in construction. They aren't very useful for wearing around the house, either, as they are rather stiff. They aren't at all breathable, so your feet will be hot and sweaty in no time, although that's normal for steel-toed boots. While they are pretty easy to put on, look decent, and I like the color, I'll probably go back to wearing surplus military boots or something, as they last way longer.
