Hot but not hot

This is one of those rare moments where I get to try something new from a place I love. Hot sauce. Spice. Its everything nice. But with a surprise twist...it's not too spicy, and it has a bit of sweetness. It was enough to stop me in my tracks as tasted it, then I had to taste it again to make sure I wasn't having a moment. This is actually SWEET and spicy. And you know what, it pulls it off well! The taste is the perfect balance; the sweetness balances out the spice, but the spice keeps it from becoming too sweet, with neither styles of flavor overwhelming the other. This was a fun experience! I love hot sauce and I love the adventure of trying to find "the one spice to rule them all" I guess you could say, but this wasn't too spicy at all, it was actually a FUN flavor to consume. I'll be topping my scrambled eggs from here on with this, instead of the basic hot sauce and ketchup combo. I sense a new staple in this house!

I like some heat to my food sometimes but it's important to me that it's accompanied by some good flavor. Just being hot is not enough. I decided to try this on an angus burger with swiss cheese and basic bread. This definitely brings the flavor. I'm not sure how to describe it but it's sweet and, I think, has a good taste. It definitely improved the burger. Although this says extra hot and it does bring some heat, for my palate, it was not particularly hot (I'm partial to some very spicy food on occasion) but it definitely fit the bill for a bit of casual heat that wouldn't have you grasping for a glass of water to soothe your mouth. Due to the glass bottle, I put on a bit more than expected and was worried it might be a bit much if it was 'extra hot' but it turned out to be about the right amount. The burger was very pleasant to eat and I'm really pleased with this item.

WOW this sauce is interesting, sweet AND quite hot AND vinegary. It has a thick texture like catsup and looks like catsup, but there are no tomatoes, the red color is all from chilis. Hubby and I put a bit on a plate and tasted it with spoons and said OMG so hot! Wait, it’s good! No too HOT!! Wait, let me try a little more, OMG I really like it. WAIT it’s actually kinda sweet! But so HOT! 😂 So I predict we will be experimenting with it a lot. The expiration date is about 6 months from when I received it but I think we will use it up well before then. I love this addition to my hot-sauce collection and would definitely recommend this product.

I received exactly what I needed. My family loves this chili sauce. It’s fiery and delicious. Pretty big bottle.

This sauce lives up to its "extra hot" name. It delivers a significant kick of heat that lingers on the palate. Unlike some runny hot sauces, ABC Extra Hot Chili Sauce has a thicker consistency, making it ideal for dipping. I found the flavor fairly complex too. A great find.
