I recently moved into my new apartment. Due to storage, relocation and to simply start fresh, I essentially had NO FURNITURE! I needed to start buying stuff, and fast. The whole process of designs and styles to choose from and utilizing space, etc has always been fun and exciting to me. To go through the entire process then finally get your new stuff! The catch to this is, stuff costs money. I really didn’t want to just go impulsively buy the first cheap coffee table I saw and just beat it up for 1-2 years then start the whole process over again. I really wanted to start making purchases on larger items that I can use and be happy with for 5/10/20 years. But generally those types of items cost a lot more money. After deciding on the style, size, functionality and finally a budget, I did a lot of research. I spent about 2 weeks researching coffee tables, side tables, bed frames, mattresses, carpets, desks… everything found in a home, I was researching and planning. But this review is for the coffee table you’re checking out; so let’s skip to when I decided on this VASAGLE coffee table. I am happy to review it and share that this was a fantastic purchase. Here is how I figure this to be the case. Fast shipping. Free shipping. Isn’t that why we pay for Prime? This is exactly the type of purchase that we want Prime for in the first place. The shipping box was not too bad to get into my apartment. If you have trouble moving heavier items, get your buddy involved. Easy and leisurely assembly. I don’t rush assembly. So any reviewer that brags “I got it done in like 25 minutes”; they rushed the job. They stripped various screws, forgot fasteners, scratched the surfaces, at some point realized they installed one piece incorrectly and had to take it all apart to fix their mistake, then forgot to tighten 40% of the fasteners during reassembly, then finally lie to folks for some reason and say they did it in 25 minutes. They later down the road complain that it wobbles, squeaks while the fasteners are falling out and all they can do is blame it on the manufacturer. This seems like I know these types of guys too well. I know these things because I used to be one of those guys. I have learned that you only have to assemble a new item ONCE. So when you do; do it right. I put on a movie, followed the instructions closely, then it was completed by the time the movie was over. What type of movie? 90’s Tom Clancy. Ford not Baldwin. So use that timeframe of measurement… if you care to. Sturdiness. Yes, it is sturdy. I was somewhat skeptical about the sturdiness of the hinge lift system. I was pleasantly surprised that it functions very well, while remaining quite as well. It has plenty of support for dining while cutting up a nice ribeye steak, or doing a little bit of work on your laptop. Storage. This is one of the major factors I used in selecting this table. I utilize the entire top hidden storage compartment to keep about 4 LARGE blankets in. It’s almost winter. I like blankets. Now they’re in arms reach, but hidden until I actually need them. The 3 bottom compartments are great, which was another feature that helped me narrow it down to this item. There were a couple of similar looking, but different configurations I researched and considered. I liked the empty/pass through bottom section. It opens up the table more, as opposed to just a big flush block object in the middle of your room. To add to the storage and look of the compartments, I sized, then went shopping for 2 baskets to keep in either end of the table. I’m utilizing them for accessible, but hidden nicknacks such as a couple of lesser used remotes, chargers, cat toys and cat treats. You never know when you need to reward your cat for doing something totally cute. I have some of my fav coffee table books in the middle compartment, with the occasional curious cat peep hole. Style. I like this style and design. If you’re reading this review, you probably do too. I wouldn’t, and didn’t do any research or comparison shopping on items that I didn’t find appealing visually in the first place. That would be silly. Generally a lot of folks purchase furniture on looks alone. Often true functionality is overlooked. I was lucky enough to find a coffee table that I was literally imagining in my head before I saw it. The rest of my pros on this item is why I’m writing a review for it in the first place. Price. I find this to be an excellent price. With the quality and overall finished product; I actually consider this quite a steal. This is comparable to the 7 year Max Scherzer contract the Nationals got. If that comparison doesn’t mean anything to you; I can’t help you, or you’re a Mets fan. However all you really need to know is this a excellent value-purchase that you will greatly benefit from. The price was actually below what I was budgeting for the coffee table, so when I decided on this, I was able to make a couple of additional purchases in my “want/eventually” column. I’m not close to being done fully furnishing the new apartment with everything I’m planning on; and the decor stage is a 3 month plan/activity for me to do through the rest of the year. However I was able to cross “Coffee Table” off my list. And I am very satisfied with that. #Recommend

This table is fantastic! Colors are exactly as pictured and the instructions were super easy to understand even though it’s all just pictures. I only had to take one piece back off and flip it around and that was my bad. Just put it together a couple days ago and it’s sturdy and holding up great with no signs of failing at the hinges or anything. There’s plenty of space inside to store all kinds of things. I will definitely look into some of their other pieces!

I was looking for a coffee table for my home office/work room when I discovered that there were some that lifted to become work stations. I have used a different assemble-yourself brand for the rest of my office furniture and I'm very happy with that brand. I always feel compelled to price-shop at least a little, and this product showed up in my search at a significantly lower price. I liked the design, as the crossed bars on the ends matched other pieces in my office. I love that there's storage inside the coffee table. The three open cubbies underneath provide even more room for whatever I want to put there. But my absolute favorite feature is the lift-up top. It's solid, sturdy, and stable when it's raised. I have no fears that it might collapse or drop while I'm using it. A portion of the room where I have my office has transformed into a second family room. There's a futon/couch facing a large television where my family often gravitates, so this purchase was mainly to provide a coffee table where we could set our drinks. It serves that purpose quite well, but I'm utilizing it much more as a work desk or for casual dining with my family while watching a movie. It's the right height for my laptop and is actually more comfortable for that use than my office desk. When my husband and I take a coffee break together, I just raise the table. If my daughter and I watch a movie in the evening, we eat our meal at the table. Because the top lifts up and forward, there's no need to be bending over to reach our plate. The same is true of working on my laptop when the top is lifted; I can sit comfortable with my back straight. I raise and lower the table top multiple times a day and the mechanism is just as smooth every time. Another thing I like is that when the top is raised or lowered it's like it's hydraulic - it does so very smoothly and slowly. If I have drinks sitting on the table, I can safely leave them there as I raise or lower the top. I should also add that this coffee table was easy to assemble, as I did so without any help. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this product and highly recommend it.

Only one problem, the allen keys provided (one small and one large) were both too small for the large bolts. Still tightened them by angling the allen key but was frustrating and sort of stripping the bolts. About an hour install time and all the parts were there and good quality. Works as intended, looks good, functions well, however...pay very close attention to which orientation the pieces go together by looking at the drawings or you will have to remove the screws/bolts and flip them and re-install for a moment of frustration. Happy with the larger size and value.

Love this table. We put little beds in each "cubby" and our cats used them immediately. Adequate storage, very attractive.

I’m a single woman over 60 and I was able to put this together by myself. The box was heavy, but the individual pieces were not. Pros: - Well packaged and protected in the box - All parts were present and even had a separate bag with spares - Came with ALL tools needed to put it together, including a magnetic screwdriver - All the pieces were clearly labeled - The faux wood is a nice quality and looks pretty nice Possible Gotchas: - When inserting the screws for the springs without help, load the screw into the magnetic screwdriver into one hand and hold the springs with the other hand. - Do not tighten the screws when connecting the springs to the wood too tightly to avoid problems (see picture). I used a power screwdriver to tighten one of the screws, and the screw head broke off the screw (the picture shows the broken screw and a screw that isn’t broken). I didn’t deduct any stars for this due to my use of a power screwdriver on high that I probably shouldn’t have done. The spring seems stable with the other 7 screws, so I’m not worried about problems. - When attaching the lid, be sure to attach it in the right direction (I originally attached it backwards, so it wouldn't close correctly). Also be sure to very LOOSELY attach one screw on one side and then attach a screw on the other side until all eight screws are attached. I had to pull the springs outward to make sure the screws lined up (see the picture). Attaching screws LOOSELY on both sides makes lining up the holes for the other screws much easier. - The pieces are labeled with a sticky backing that didn’t come off the wood cleanly. Based on the faux wood having a nice coating, you can use Goo Gone or Goof Off or any other product that can remove adhesive to remove the stickiness with no problem. The containers in my pictures did not come with the coffee table but were perfect for my needs. I bought them off Amazon (StorageWorks decorative storage baskets for shelves; they come with and without lids). The containers fit perfectly and I am happy with them (although they could probably use a little ironing). I would recommend this coffee table. It is just under 2 feet tall when the lid isn’t raised, which fits beautifully under my bay window (see picture). It is nice quality for the price.

I have other Vasagle items and they all seem to be of good quality & nice pieces of furniture. This coffee table is great so far. It took about 2 hours to put together, but I found a youtube video for this exact table that was amazingly helpful. If I didn't follow the video it would have most definitely took me longer. It was not terribly hard to put together, just time consuming. I also didn't have an electric screwdriver but if I did it would have saved some time but it wasn't too bad. The only issue I ran into was at the very end, it was pretty hard to attach the hinges to the top of the table because of the position but I ended up getting it done, it just took a long time. There was also a few holes that weren't aligned that I almost gave up on but I moved the metal part over a little so it aligned over the holes and finally got them in. There was also a piece that I couldn't figure out where it went, but it seems to be fine so far without it. I really love the lifting top of the table and all the storage underneath. I kind of wish there were a drawer too because I keep reaching for one that's not there but then I guess you wouldn't have the lift top and that's a pretty neat feature. It's nice when I use my laptop when sitting on the couch. Great purchase and I'm loving it so far!

Ayuda mucho si te apoyas de buena herramienta para armarlo. Incluyendo un destornillador eléctrico. Las instrucciones son claras y precisas. I'll start off with.. best buy for what you get. This was the first time ordering furniture off of amazon. My wife and I have a very fair sized living room. She wanted a lift top coffee table as it would act as a laptop table / eating table if she wanted to munch and watch some Tv. This table is great. It showed up with damage to the box which frankly had me worried. Upon opening it I discovered absolute flawless packaging. Stryofoam and soft foam protecting everything, there was zero damage to any of the pieces. As for parts and assembly it was very straight forward. For any beverage lovers out there it took exactly 2 adult beverages to assemble and admire the table. Instructions were great. All tools needed for assembly were provided and included spare hardware. Once assembled and brought home ( Wife's birthday gift ) it fit perfectly with our oversized sectional ( I purchased the larger varient as i knew our sectional was roughly 5 feet to 6 feet sitting space long. ) As for the depth of the storage area , under the table top provides awesome storage. Can easily fit board games , controllers , books , you name it. Easily even tissue boxes. It has a good deep storage compartment. The cubys underneath are also great for storage or decorative item display areas. When the table top if lifted it gives optimal leg room with our sectional, We have no problem sitting down with our legs under the top and not really having to hunch over to use the laptop or grab our drinks or munchies. The finish was beautiful and fit it really well with the handcrafted and finished furniture i had already made and stained for our living room. Over all I would certainly recommend this table to anyone interested just be certain of what size of table you want for your height width and legnth. Quality is cheeper but you could never tell when fully assembled and in use. Get compliments all the time and we even bought matching side tables from the same company after purchasing and using this table. Hope this helps anyone interested in purchasing this table! Mi pedido llegó 8 dias antes. Las instrucciones son muy claras en el instructivo. El material es de excelente calidad tanto tornillos, ensamble y herrajes. Trae su propio desarmador y llaves Allen para su armado. Me tardé 3 horas y media en el armado completo. Es una belleza de mesa. ME ENCANTÓ. ALTAMENTE RECOMENDABLE. Cliente muy satisfecha con la compra.

Lately when I buy a mid-budget table, I know the quality won’t be exceptional and that I’ll eventually be replacing it. This table may be an exception. The components were well packaged and protected, the instructions were clear and the table went together smoothly in about a half hour; the only fiddly part was while installing a long particleboard brace between the hinges for lateral stiffness; I feel like the order of assembly around those steps could be reordered to make installing that panel easier. As mentioned, the panels are pretty solid chipboard with a decent faux wood grain texture and colour, they come pre drilled and set for the hardware attachments, but it’s the frame that makes this a keeper. The frame is solid enough that even if/when the chipboard components wear out or are damaged, I’ll happily replace those parts with wood. The table top comes up with spring loaded hinges that make it to easy raise and lower the top with merely a finger on either long-side; once raised it is at a good height and distance from where I’m seated to use for dining or homework or to game on my laptop. The interior is spacious and deep, making lots of room for games, controllers, and occasionally-used household items. The three cubbies on the bottom are spacious and carry through to the other side, and there are feet on each of the four legs that can rotate to adjust for level. Overall very happy with this purchase.
