Adds a TON of performance to my ROG Flow x16 2022 with an RX 6700xt!
Y'know it's weird, gpuz says it's only running at pcie 3.0 x4, but the real world performance gains I'm seeing from using it with a used 6700xt i got for 250 instead of my laptops mobile 3060 is craaaaaazy. I can finally play half life Alyx comfortably, and max settings at that, every game I've thrown at it runs at 100fps or more on my ultrawide 1440p monitor with max settings. I bought an open pc case on amazon that interfaced perfectly with the mounting holes on this board and it feels super sturdy. I never could get my gtx 1650 to work with this board (driver issues and many BSoDs) but it was nearly hitchfree using AMD. I just had to disable the igpu, install new drivers from amds website, then re-enable the igpu, absolutely no problems. To cut the hole in my laptops casing I used double sided tape to mark the spot then carefully cut with a dremel. I filled the port with painters tape then filed it down with my dremel so it doesn't stick out too far, worked like a charm! Incredibly satisfying purchase, and i feel like such a giganerd having this thing. JUST DO IT!!

Runs at PCI-e gen 4.0 x4 speed!
Beat my expectations. This host adapter is at the heart of my retrofit of an old thunderbolt eGPU into a much faster oculink box. Ran the PCI-e bandwidth tester and verified it was averaging 7.05GB/s (60.6gbit/s). Tried it with 3 different machines (using the m.2 slot on a framework laptop, as well as the on-board oculink slots of both an Aoostar gem12 8845hs and a GPD Win Max 2 8840u). It ran perfectly on all 3. $40 very well spent.

Operating at PCIe 4.0 speeds just fine so far
I did have to 3D print some adapters to let me secure this to the bracket I purchased, but it worked without any issues. I tested both a PCIe 4.0 SSD and GPU. Things have worked at that speed so far. This seems to be a really good value for the PCIe x4 board, Oculink cable, and M2 Oculink adapter.

Works with PCIe 4.0. No, but really though.
This is no less than the sixth product I've tried looking for a way to run multiple PCIe 4.0 U.2 SSDs from a bifurcated PCIe slot. All of the other products worked fine at 3.0 speeds but would cause a stream of AER logs, resets, and whole-system hangs at 4.0. All of them. Not this one. Four drives, buttery smooth at PCIe 4.0. Gigabytes per second per drive. I used the corresponding Oculink 8i to dual-U.2 cables from the same vendor to connect drives.

Works very well!
Works the way you think at a great price!

works on linux with open source nvidia drivers
with open source nvidia drivers this worked well on arch linux. with the proprietary drivers, my laptop complained about the bus speed being too high, but this was likely an issue with the framework 13 motherboard than anything.

Works with an hp eilte desk 800 g4 and a amd rx 580
It was a little fiddly and there were no real instructions. Works only after setting up a second monitor and a reboot. This is really the only way to do an eGPU faster than usb 4 and thunderbolt 4

Grazie!

You can find support for this eGPU dock on EGPU.IO (search for Oculink EGPU tutorial). After following the steps, I was able to plug in a GTX 1080 to my old gaming laptop with GTX 1650. Performance was very good. 3DMark Time Spy Score: 7300+ In this synthetic result, there doesn't seem to be any degradation in performance. In gaming, the result is exceptional (1440p gaming is possible). I am also able to run games on the internal laptop display without issues. Even though it is running off NVMe M.2 port, some laptops might not be compatible. Look for experience of other users to confirm, or simply buy the adapter & test with a borrowed graphics card to make sure it will work for your laptop.
