Set Of 10 Air Brake Cage Bolts That Are Grade 8.8
This is a set of ten bolts that are designed to work with air spring brake chambers and 800921 bolts. Each bolt is 4-13/16" long, has 1/2 threading and comes with a flat washer and nut. These pieces are all 8.8 grade for high strength and durability. These cagebolts are replacements for semi truck, school bus and RV trailer air spring brake chamber systems. Would recommend these to anyone.

SEIZE when you put a load on them. threads are too course, poor material, they lock up & your stuck
I took a set of 4 of these to release a trailer that had air brakes that I needed to move. They work fine until you get to the point where the air brake spring is putting a heavy load on them. Then, instead of pulling the brake shoes away from the drum, the caging bolts stop turning, seize up... and then won't even back off. When they stopped turning, I was under the assumption I had the brake cage pulled back as far as it would go. Think again. SO you're stuck with the brake still applied, and locked up caging bolt that the nut won't turn either way. I took maybe a 16" pipewrench to snap these bolts off. Only one out of the 4 caging bolts worked and got that brake released. But on the other 3, I got to dig the little broken off "T" end out of inside the brake chambers with a long skinny magnet. Good times when its 95 degrees out and you're 400 miles from home !! I went and bought some quality caging bolts, with better quality steel and finer threads, and got them caged. These were a real waste of my money, and cost me an extra 1/2 day to get the broken parts out and round up useable caging bolts from a napa store.
