This is one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon (I've made a lot!). It's so good I bought it twice. One for over the front door on the outside of the house and another one for my garden shed. The first one I bought I've now been using for 18-months and I've had no issues at all with it. The light comes in a fairly robust nice-looking box. Inside you'll find a user guide, mounting screws + raw plugs, a mounting template, a remote control and the light itself. The light feels well constructed. Nothing about it feels delicate, cheap and likely to break. On the unit you'll find LED's which light up depending on which mode you're using and an LED to display battery status. There is also a power on/off button and a USB port. I never have to use the USB port for charging the device but it's there if you have a prolonged period of bad weather which prevents the solar panel from charging up the battery. The only time I needed to use the USB port was for an initial full charge before fitting the light. There is also a pretty good/sensitive PIR sensor on the front. It turns on pretty quickly once it senses someone coming up the drive. It would have been nice to have a remote control with "proper" buttons but the one supplied functions well enough despite being a generic type you usually find with goods from the far east. Installing the light was a doddle. I used the template to drill two holes in the wooden beam over the door, put the light on and slid it to the side to secure it in to place. After that I set the mode (Mode 1 for me) with the remote control and chose the colour temperature. Neutral White was the most pleasing to my eye and also the brightest because it uses all of its LED's at once (as opposed to just it's bluish Cool White LED's or just it's yellowish Warm White LED's). Because I have the light east-facing I found the battery wouldn't stay charged when I was in mode 2. Mode 2 = light stays on dim all night and goes to full brightness when motion is detected. It lasted through most of this winter in that mode though and I would have been able to keep it in that mode with just a few more days of sunshine. For now I've switched it to mode 1 so that it only turns on when motion is detected and turns off when there's no motion. That should ensure I never have to take it down to charge it. I have a nice little home security set up now. When someone comes up the drive the light comes on allowing my video doorbell and security camera to clearly see who's there. This review is for the ORCA model. Highly recommended and especially so if you are mounting it south-facing. You'll love it. Grab yourself one!

Bought two of these to save time on hard wiring lights in outside and I have to say so far so good. Very bright, PIR is sensitive enough and the pre-set on time is just right. I have mounted the lights within reach so they can be taken down quickly ( the mounting holes are slotted so removal is very easy) just in case there has not been enough sun to adequately charge but after 2 weeks of the dreary UK winter weather I have not had to remove to charge, I did pre charge the lights using the USB C port before installing which was quite quick. Even the little paper template provided is very useful for you to get your mounting screw distances just right. Can't comment on the remote control functionality but overall I would say this is a very good product that is very easy to set up and works very well.

A good security light that is bright and responsive. Couple this with solar charging and so no wiring and it's great. It's been in some bad weather and there are no leaks so it seems very well waterproofed. The only problem I've had is from the supplied screws; the head sheered off one so I suggest you get your own. It charges on even dull days has had enough power to last a very long time How long I couldn't say because I've not had it on for too long as it's an occasional use security light. Mine is positioned above the summer house door so I can see the lock when it's dark. All in all, a great little light with good enough charging, battery life, waterproof and great illumination.

Excellent product, perfectly fit, don't look for something else.

I was looking for a light for the front as a temporary measure. A friend had purchased one of these units and recommended it to me. The fitting was easy using the template. The solar-powered charges the light through the day, but it can be charged using a cable. It comes with a remote control allowing the brightness adjusted or action whether PIR or constant etc.

Took a punt on this unit . Was that good bought 3 more . Lights up area on dim mode then springs to life on motion to illuminate a large area. Charged initially by usb and has performed without further charging bar sunlight which we have had a limited supply . Recommend highly

Great product nice very bright lighting at night. Bought a smaller one previously which is working great too.

Have 2 from last year, still going strong. 2 more now for parents house. They light up in winter and dull days. Would recommend. Only negative paying slightly more for 2 singles than the 2 pack, delivery on 2 pack was 10 days.
