Purchased to send my Sky+ signal from downstairs to the upstairs bedroom (approx. 5-6 metres away). Delivery was excellent. Ordered on a friday and received the following monday (with free delivery). Set up was very quick. Plugged the transmitter part into the Sky box downstairs, and the receiver into the TV upstairs. NB. If you have Sky, make sure the Scart socket is selected from the Sky settings menu (by default I think it is normally set to off). Point the transmitter and receiver so they are roughly facing each other and the signal should transmit without much tweaking. Select the correct Scart channel output from your TV upstairs and you should see the transmitted picture. Everything works fine, and you can control the second TV using the Sky+ remote control, just make sure the remote sensors are placed in front of the Sky box on the first TV where you'd normally point the control to change the channel. Picture quality is really good. Better than I expected to be honest. Its not HD, but its very acceptable. Sound is also very good. No interference or notable crackling. Changing channels is instant, and you can do anything that you can do on your Sky+ box as normal from the second TV, e.g. pause, record, catch up, etc. One small issue I had upon first set up was a blue screen and low sound. After some mild stressing, I realised that I had not pushed the transmitter jack all the way into the transmitter box. So if you do get a blue screen, check all the connections are pushed very firmly in. I've only had the Nikkai for 10 days, so lets hope it continues to function as well as it currently does.

Great Gizmo !
Simple to set up and works a treat between Lounge and Kitchen through modern house wall. Not tried it anywhere else. Hesitated at first following some dodgy reviews, but I am delighted with this purchase. Would give 5 stars but the remote sensor remains a mystery to me, and Maplin still didn't get back to me about linking it in to other items like DVD recorders. Basically whatever I set up to play on Sky (live or recorded) in the lounge I can see in the kitchen-which is exactly what I wanted. No interference, not HD but still a good picture/sound. The actual transmitters are very small and unobtrusive too. Highly recommended bit of kit, and reasonably priced too !

Dreadful!
I see this as ยฃ50 wasted. I needed the signal to travel about 30 feet in a single story building. The picture is dreadful and constantly requires re tuning. You tune the units by pointing them toward each other, tune them and remove your hand and the signal deteriorates. Switch off the TV and then turn it on again, the unit needs re-tuning. Walk between the two units and impede the signal and the picture is lost. I have tried all of the channels and there is little to choose between them. It reminds me when you used to have to tune an indoor arial in the 60's. Cost me ยฃ50 and I have to get somebody in to wire it in the connection properly....

Waste of Time ..... Go for a Signstek 5.8 instead
NO... very dissappointed with this product, bought this to replace an old 'one 4 all' 2.4 unit which produced good pictures and sound but was beginning to suffer with too much other electrical interference. I installed this unit in exactly the same place as the old unit and was eagerly looking forward to an improved experience.....Wrong !! Despite spending many hours trying different channels and orientations the best that I was able to achieve was a noisy picture and sound, plus the IR failed to work at all.... the other problem was that if you walked accross the path of the 2 units it would cause massive interference, the distance between the 2 units was about 6 metres and it was transmitting between the lounge into the kitchen with a 2 metre hallway in between. I returned this item back to amazon using their freepost return system and recieved my refund no problem...I then ordered up the 'Signstek 5.8' system which icidentally was ยฃ15 cheaper than the Nikkai and have been delighted with the result. Installed once again in the same place as the other units it worked straight out of the box! ..Have made a few little adjustments to the orientation and settled on a channel that gives beautifully clear pictures and sound and the other bonus is that the IR works which enables me to use the remote control from the kitchen, am really impressed and pleased with this unit.... 5 stars

A bit "glitchy"
The product was easy to set up and get working in a basic fashion. I wanted to transmit the signal from my Virgin box from room to room on the ground floor of our house - about 10 metres and through an internal structural wall. I got a decent picture after switching channels a few times, although it was badly affected by people moving across the signal path. The remote worked, but seemed to suffer from interference. After a few minutes, the box would change channels, or switch functions without the "zapper" being touched. Couldn't get rid of this glitch, and so returned it for a refund. Maplin perfectly OK about that, no problems at all.
