Amazon’s Choice that actually delivers — great on a budget
I picked up the Hisense AX5140Q 5.1.4Ch Sound Bar because I was on a budget and saw it labeled as an Amazon’s Choice product—glad I went with it. Setup: Super simple. Plug everything in, place the speakers, and it pretty much connects on its own. I paired it easily with my Fire TV via Bluetooth—quick and hassle-free. Performance: Wow, just wow. The Dolby Atmos and DTS:X effects really stand out—sound feels like it’s moving around and above you, especially during movies. Dialogue is clear, bass from the wireless subwoofer is strong, and there are multiple modes (Voice, Night, EQ settings) to tweak based on what you’re watching. Volume: This thing gets seriously loud. Even mid-level volume is more than enough for a typical room, and it has plenty of headroom if you want that full cinematic feel. Build & Value: The build feels solid and well put together. For the price, you’re getting a lot of value and a true surround-style experience without spending a fortune. Cons: Rear speakers could be better, and I’ve noticed occasional connection drops. You may also need to tweak settings to get the best sound balance, and the surround effect isn’t as strong in larger rooms. Extra: I’ve also added a video to give a better sense of the sound quality in a real setup. Overall: If you’re on a budget and want a big upgrade in sound, this is an easy pick. Amazon’s Choice didn’t disappoint.

Great value for immersive home audio
Delivers impressive Dolby Atmos performance with a noticeably immersive surround experience right out of the box. The wireless subwoofer provides deep, punchy bass that enhances movies and music without overwhelming dialogue. Setup is straightforward, and all components connect بسهولة, making it user-friendly even for non-tech users. Multiple connectivity options like HDMI ARC, Bluetooth, and Optical make it versatile for different setups. Sound modes are useful and actually make a difference depending on content like movies, music, or news. Rear speakers add good spatial depth, though they may feel slightly underpowered in larger rooms. Build quality is solid for the price, and the design looks clean and modern in any living space. Overall, an excellent balance of performance, features, and value for a complete home theater experience.

I did my research, Chose this device, I am happy and this is why!
Wow, just wow. Before purchasing this sound bar I did extensive research trying to balance budget and quality and boy did I make the right choice. If I wasn't on such a tight budget I would buy another one for my living room as this sounds much better than my older stereo system 7.1 with a receiver. Installation: Setup was simple and easy. When assessing whether I purchase something or not I also go to the negative reviews to see if there are any negatives I need to know about, I disagree with the people who had issues setting up their system . They either just don't know what they are doing or their equipment wasn't very compatible, I guess. If you have 2 brain cells you should be able to set this up. They have a quick set-up guide and a more detailed guide. You just have to place the speakers where you want them and plug them into a power outlet. The system paired up with the speakers automatically. Batta Bing Batta Boom. I used this with my projector with a firestick. My Fire stick is plugged directly into the projector and is not convenient for a wire. But that is no big deal because they conveniently connect utilizing Bluetooth. Go into your Remote and Bluetooth settings on your fire stick, hit the Bluetooth button on the stereo remote and the option to select the system on the firestick pops up, click it and it is perfectly paired. So simple even a caveman can do it, except for a few people giving negative reviews on this page, apparently they are sub-cavemen I guess, lol. Performance: All I have to say is wow, just wow. I could not believe the quality of the sound. There are a few different stereo settings, pure stereo, stereo pro (my favorite), No stereo, Then there are modes you can choose, Voice which I guess enhances audio for those have issues hearing voices over the sounds, AI (not sure what it does), Night Mode or 1 other one that slip my mind at the moment. Anyways, just play with them until you find your preferred setting. Night mode is nice because it lowers the bass and makes the sound more quiet and less disturbing to people that may be sleeping as well as your ears getting more sensitive at night. The settings are more than enough for most people. Volume: I made a separate section for volume because Holy carap this thing is loud. If you even pump this bad boy up to about 35 it is on the brink of being too loud and possibly disturbing to your neighbors depending on your living arrangements. If you turn it up to max you just might lose your hearing permanently, this thing is incredibly loud and sufficient for even the most abusive of volume for those people that want to torture themselves or their neighbors. You blast this near max, you might be getting a visit from the police and a wife that will yell at you to turn it down, you nut! lol. Overall for the value and quality of the equipment (the speakers are not cheaply put together, quality is evident) and sound you can't go wrong with this device, especially if you are trying to not to break the bank. So let me help you down off the fence, buy this especially if you can snatch it up for $300 or less, your research is over.

Great addition to the living room!
This soundbar system absolutely delivers a cinematic experience for the money, so I’m comfortable giving it a full 5‑star rating. It’s powerful, immersive, and easy to live with day‑to‑day. The 5.1.4 setup with real rear speakers and four up‑firing drivers gives you convincing Dolby Atmos and DTS:X height and surround effects, with clear dialogue and a genuinely “wrapped around you” soundstage for movies and games. The wireless subwoofer brings plenty of punch for action scenes and bass‑heavy music, and the overall tuning stays balanced enough that voices don’t get lost under the low end. I also really like the user experience: Roku TV Ready and EzPlay make setup and control with a compatible TV almost seamless, Room Calibration dials the sound into your specific room, and the 7 EQ modes let you quickly flip between presets for movies, TV, music, and more without fiddling with deep menus. Connectivity is excellent too—HDMI (including ARC), optical, AUX, USB, and Bluetooth 5.3 mean you can hook up just about anything and still keep the system simple for the family to use. If you want a true surround Atmos setup with rear speakers and strong bass, but don’t want the complexity or cost of a full AVR and separate speakers, this Hisense AX5140Q hits a fantastic sweet spot and is an easy 5‑star recommendation.

Disappointing Performance from Hisense AX5140Q
I recently purchased the Hisense AX5140Q soundbar, and I must say, my experience has been quite frustrating. Every time I turn it on, the most annoying issue arises: there is no sound. The only way to fix this problem is to switch the audio format on my TV manually, which is both inconvenient and time-consuming. While the sound quality is great when it works, having to constantly fiddle with settings just to get the sound to function is a major drawback. I expected better reliability from a product in this price range. Overall, unless this issue can be resolved, I cannot recommend the Hisense AX5140Q. It’s disappointing to deal with such a fundamental problem with a soundbar.

Good sound for the money, but many advertized features require HiSense TV.
Good quality sound for the money, (although I am not an audiophile), but several issues. I have a LG OLED TV, but I did't realise before I bought this, and then I realized many of the features requires a HiSense TV. 1. Soundbar menu doesn't show up unless you have a compatible HiSense TV. 2. Room Fitting Tunning is not available unless you have a compatible Hisense TV where the soundbar menu is. 3. Hi Concerto mode also not available unless you have HiSense TV. 4. Another annoying thing is that the "source" doesn't stay as as I last left as. When I turn it on and off, it reset source to HDMI. (but I want to it to stay at EArc, so I don't have to toggle source every time I turn it on). Pros: 1. No issues with sounds quality. 2. initial Setup/connection was easy, although took me a lot of menu reading and figoure the advanced features (room tuning I really wanted) are not available because I have an LG TV. 3. The 4 up speakers really makes a difference. Most systems less than $500 do not have that many up speakers, even if they do, they only have in the front speaker. the 2 back speakers with up speakers, I can tell the difference. 4. The preset EQ levels for "Movies, Music, and Games" and Moods, "night", etc. are great, easy to switch with a remote press. Ultimately, I think it is impossible to find a 5.1.4 system with less than $500 dollars. So I will keep it.

Excellent sound quality and pairs perfectly with my Hisense TV
I am very happy with this soundbar system and honestly feel that it was a great purchase for our home setup. The sound quality is excellent and it made a huge difference in the way we watch movies, shows, and even play games. Right away, I noticed how clear the dialogue sounds compared to the regular TV speakers. Voices come through much more clearly, which makes it easier to follow conversations even during scenes with a lot of background sound. The surround sound is also very immersive. The rear speakers and Dolby Atmos feature really help create that theater-like feeling, especially during action scenes and movies with a lot of sound effects. It truly feels like the sound is coming from different directions around the room, which makes the overall experience much more enjoyable. The wireless subwoofer adds strong and deep bass, but it does not overpower the voices or other sounds, which I really appreciate. One of the best things about this soundbar is how well it pairs with my Hisense TV. The connection was quick, smooth, and synchronized perfectly right out of the box. Setup was simple and straightforward, and everything worked seamlessly with my TV without any issues. It really feels like they were made to work together. I also like that it works great for music and gaming, not just movies. The different sound modes are useful depending on what I am watching or listening to. Overall, this soundbar offers excellent sound quality, easy setup, and great compatibility with my Hisense TV. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade their home entertainment experience.

WAY better than expected - you won't be disappointed (and I was skeptical)
Just re-did my living room, and I wanted to get rid of wires/clutter/big AV receiver, big sub and big speakers, etc. I figured I would try this, but I was very skeptical as I was replacing an AV receiver with bigger speakers and a bigger sub. I was absolutely floored when it turned out this sounded WAY better... even the bass. Mind you this is just for a living room not a home theater... but wow. I'm very impressed. Nice thing is that there's no wires other than power cables, and everything paired instantly as soon as I turned it on and plugged it in to the eARC. One thing to note - each rear speaker has its own AC power plug... and they're quite big (the wall end)... and the wires are pretty short. That's my only complaint and it's pretty minor. I would absolutely recommend this... the sound is fantastic for TV and really bumps music nice too. The Dolby ATMOS and surround work flawlessly - there was literally zero set up other than plug in and adjust levels to your preference.

very good, I recommend
Everything works great. I connected via eARC, there are no delays, I tested it on different 5.1 and Dolby Atmos content. Surprisingly, the panel in the control key area is very hot. It fits perfectly with my Hisense U8K TV, but the TV is 2 years old and there is still no Hi-concerto software feature. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase...

Easy to hook up, but the rear speakers aren't great for music
This was really easy to hook up and get music going on. The sound quality from the main sound bar is pretty good. I've only tried it with music as I have a fairly high end 5.1 surround sound system for my TV. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the quality of the rear speakers. The sound almost sounded a bit tinny for me, so I didn't use them. For an inexpensive surround sound for your TV they'd be fine, but if you're used to higher end sound, they won't sound amaing for music.

Very disappointing overall experience
I wanted to like this system, but it has been a letdown. The rear speakers especially leave a lot to be desired in sound quality. They do not sound refined or well integrated with the rest of the system, and the overall surround effect feels much weaker than expected. The biggest problem shows up with vocals and acoustic guitar. The mids sound off, unnatural, and poorly timed, almost like some speakers are firing slightly late. Instead of sounding cohesive, the system feels disjointed and wrong. Music is not just a little disappointing — it is genuinely impossible to enjoy. Vocal tracks and acoustic recordings make the issue especially obvious. I honestly do not know whether my unit is defective or whether this is just how the product performs, but something is clearly not right. On top of that, Hi-Concerto did not work as promised. The TV shows it as connected and enabled, but the TV speakers do not actually seem to contribute real audio properly. At most, I could hear faint white noise, not meaningful sound, which defeats the whole purpose of the feature. To make things worse, the box appeared to be pre-opened, which made me wonder whether I received a previously returned item. Overall, this has been a very disappointing purchase. Poor rear speaker quality, unnatural mids, timing issues with music, and Hi-Concerto not functioning as advertised make this impossible for me to recommend.
