2 Quart Bonsai Soil Mix Lava,Pumice,Pine Bark and Calcined Rock, Natural Organic Mix for Potted Plants…

Its good, would be lovely as far as the quality and components, and value for your money. It's on the cheap price end, compared to something like Bonsai Jack's Gritty mix. But it's too big. Too chunky or coarse for my taste. Many of us have smaller cacti and succulents collections, too, and I need it to be a bit smaller. I can use it outside or with some really large plants, to mix in with my own cactus mix. Good quality but wrong scale. Also too much bark in it.

Got this for my grandmother who seems to forget that she just watered the plants. The good thing is she can’t water log them and root rot is nearly impossible. It holds just enough water then the rest just comes flushing out the drainage holes. Only thing I’d recommend is to rinse off before you repot your plants. To get rid of the dust that accumulates throughout shipping. Aside from that, if you are heavy handed with the water pitcher, this will save your plants from overwatering and it also looks super naturalistic with all the shades the rocks come in.

I don't know much about medium for bonsai but it came in a rugged plastic bag. There was no smell. There was some dust. It easily poured. I bought it as a beginner bonsai enthusiasts but I have had no problems with my plants in this soil. It seems to be working fine for me. I was a little skeptical about putting a baby plant right into just this medium so I mixed potting soil with it. I am having fun with a bonsai kit. That had everything to start with seed, containers etcetera. It was advertised as suitable for succulent plants but I have not used it for that as of yet.

You can’t find bonsai soil, so it’s best to try to get it online if you looked where the special potting dirt is, you might find something there. Good luck.

This absolutely the worst bonsai soil I ever bought. $35.00 for a 2 lb bag of hardwood mulch with a few stones tossed in. Its not even pine bark, some of the pieces were over an inch, there was a piece of plastic and a wire tie inside, I suppose that was a bonus because they didn't advertise comes with trash. Hope you choke on my cash!!!!

I love this chunky mix for all my house plants. I added other soil into the mix but this helps a lot with drainage
