Seagate Skyhawk 2 TB, Video Internal Hard HDD – 3.5", SATA 6Gb/s, 256MB Cache, for DVR NVR Security Camera System, with in-house Rescue Services (ST2000VX017)

I bought Seagate surveillance hard drive easy to install all up and running no problems excellent. very pleased.

Working very well in my custom designed CCTV hybrid DVR. Review of Seagate Skyhawk 4TB ST4000VX016. Yes its a bit noisy seeking, but mine is in a cabinet in the garage so I don't mind at all, it might be a shade annoying in a quiet environment though. Performance is excellent, it holds up a constant fairly high record rate with easy, all the streams are smooth. Whilst also giving me really quick seeking and replay at the same time, the system just feels smoother and snappier. Beware, there is another version around that is a tiny bit cheaper, the ST4000VXZ16 - note the 'Z' in the code, it has only a quarter of the cache of this version and other changes. For a couple of quid more, this one (without the 'Z') is the one you want. To early to tell on life expectancy, these things do have a really hard life in this application so you have to be a bit realistic.

Bought this to replace a faulty drive in a HIK vision DVR. Very easy to do all plug and play was cheaper to buy this than the 1GB that was standard. Been in for a couple of months no issues so far.

HD used for cctv system and still going strong. Great value.

Absolutely 5 star. At the moment the first star is having a rest. Came much faster than anticipated. The replacement recorder for my CCTV was £850. My brilliant son matched the hard drive and swapped it for under £60. Only down side is you need a brilliant son…..

Purchase took weeks to arrive and only lasted 2 months in my NVR before it failed. For the price i expected more

I don’t have any problems with this hard drive. It replaced a much smaller one that just gave up. I am glad we got this one. The storage is great. Quality of the pictures and videos are very good. It was easy to install and we have had it for much longer than the original one.
