Actually Works โ Caught 3 Moles in Under 48 Hours
Weโve tried several different mole traps and sprays over time, and this is the only product that actually worked for us. The traps were easy to set up, sturdy, and effective. We caught 3 moles in less than 48 hours after placing them. If youโve been wasting money on sprays or other traps with no results, these are definitely worth trying. Huge difference compared to everything else we used.

Trap scissors- the best.
For all who get tired from moles. Nobody pays me for this preview. Just want to let you know that Iโm glad to have this trap. In 2 weeks I caught 3 moles. In more than 2 years I used: spike trap, poison grains and worms and other stuff- no success. I really didnโt put much hope for this time of trap, but it really works.

Trap placement is key.
Removed 10 moles so far with 4 being same day within hours of setting. Advice if you can set right before or after a rain I was most successful. If the trap doesn't trip I moved to different location every 24 /48 hours look for straight tunnel runs if the trap wont set in the tunnel pick another location. Unsetting trap can be scary I find just dropping on ground to trip the trap works. Can be little of a bear to release the mole from closed trap. Wish I bought sooner other solutions which were cheaper did not work.

1 DOWN MAYBE MORE
Had an older version mole trap with the same jaws of death, but was difficult and touchy (danger of snapping shut after setting the jaws open while handling and placing in position) before placing it in the ground. This newer version is much easier to set without the danger of snapping shut during positioning and setting. I had one snap shut while setting it after stepping on the above ground set lever; but that was because I tried to move it sideways while it was still in the ground and there were no fingers or whatever in danger when it snapped because the jaws were underground. BTW, placed it in the yard the day after it was delivered and eliminated one mole by the next morning. One mole can do a lot of damage and I hope I got the one; but if there are more, I'll be ready. Great (safe to use) device Definitely 5by5.

4 moles in 1 month on ~ 1/4 acre area
Trapped 4 moles over the past month (May-June 2025) using these traps. I had previously tried my old spike traps and had no success (I had used spike traps years ago in a different area with shallow tunnels/softer soil with much success). The runs were a bit deeper and the ground was moist but has some clay, so soil is on the denser side. It two cases, I set the traps and had a mole within an hour - whereas with the spike traps had left them for a week over active run areas and got nothing. Some things to be aware of: 1) You may have to euthanize the animal after trapping: these didn't instantly kill the mole in all 4 cases; 2) It's a bit tricky to set them as the jaws tend to rotate left or right of the tunnel as you step down on the plate to set it and may require some readjustment after setting by realigning the jaws with the tunnel; 3) You should identify active mole runs first by stepping on part of the run to see if it is reshaped in a day or two; 4) Finding the main tunnel that has feeding runs branching off of it and plant a trap in the main run is typically most effective; 5) I found these traps worked best with deeper tunnels and sturdier soil; 6) Care must be exercised when deactivating these traps as the spring is quite powerful: when snapping shut, the setting plate will recoil quickly and forcefully. Overall, these have been very effective and the small red plastic markers help me relocate them as the area is wooded and is rolling terrain (the traps, when set, are flat and not easy to spot).

Works well but received a used product
I have these in the ground now. Waiting for the little pests to get trapped. They are easy to set . I am only giving 3 starts because I bought these new and one of them was clearly used and rusted. While it works fine and is not defective, I paid full price for a new product and received a used one.

Dont waste your money.
It doesn't work . We tried moving it in different locations, and they DO NOT get in traps. We looked at several videos to determine the use and still caught nothing.

The trap works!
After a little perseverance, and trial and error, the trap caught TWO! I bought 2 traps. We've been overrun with about 4-5 moles all around the house so the hunt goes on! I flattened all tunnels with a ground tamper and find fresh tunnels in the morning to set the traps. Good Luck!
