Ultimate Book of Optical Illusions

The range and quality of the optical illusions in this book are fantastic! It was really amazing to see how easily we are deceived by optically illusions without either knowing this or being able to do anything about this. Well worth getting.

Excellent images- inspiring

An interesting read

I bought this as a present for a friend and when he opened it everyone liked the look of it. He is a bit of an expert on optical illusions and he was pleased to see such a big collection and many he hadn't seen before. I think most people would enjoy this book

Bought this for my youngest son as a Christmas present, obviously he has not got it yet so may have to update my review later. As for me, I had a quick flick through which turned into a good long peruse and then rushing to hide it as my son came home!! I like this, there are some obvious illusions that everone has seen, the Escher terrace and the eskimo/indian illusion, but still even a flick through will prompt a pause while you try to work out each picture. Some are obvious ofcourse, but that does not make them any the less intreguing, buy and prepare to flip the pages again and again.

I expected this book to be a bit more serious. The book contains dozens of different optical illusions - 1 per page. Unfortunately none of these are explained. Ech has some instruction telling how to look at it - like 'look on the image for 5 minutes, can you see it vibrating?' Some optical illusions even repeats itself in different parts of the book - like someone who put this book together didnt even read it that much. I was really hoping for some more scientific book which dives slightly deeper into the subject, tells the story behind each illusion, explains why it works this way etc. Instead I got some book with pictures for kids. Not to mention that many well known illusions are missing here. I believe this book leaves some space for someone else to cover this subject better and more seriously. I hope I find such book at some point.

Bought this book for my grandaughter but she was lucky to get it, as everyone wanted to see it, It was very intriguing , and gave our brain a good workout. I would certainly recommend this book To everyone

Great book, purchased for nephew who love OI books, but it's s bit advanced for him (6) so suggest more suitable for older age group/adult.

E' impossibile non comprarlo se si è interessati alle illusioni ottiche. E' un compendio ricco di esempi, dai più noti a quelli meno noti. Tutti interessanti :-) La qualità del libro, carta e struttura, è ottima. Peccato solo che nei magazzini o in trasporto i libri stiano iniziando ad arrivare sempre un po' rovinati.

My granddaughts (ages 9 and 11) really enjoyed this book. They took it to the beach to share with cousins. Thank you, Amazon.
