Powerscrub XL

Very useful! Highly recommend! I used it on my carpet and the water turned black (not grey, really black!!). I did wash this carpet by hands before, but the machine does way more better then I can do with the brush and shampoo. Also, before I was washing 1 carpet in 4 hours of scrub.... with the machine in 15 min and no hard work or hand pain... should have bought it 10 years ago))

Not cleaning old stains despite of repeated wash

I bought the Power scrub XL but Amazon delivered a Faulty piece. The front scrub brushes attached with machine were not spinning they way it should as described. I checked it by re-assembling it but it didnt work whereas the hand scrub brush accessory of the machine was working and the brushes were spinning perfectly. Had to return it. Also very noisy.

Excellent product and it really does the job

I AM NOT INTO LEAVING FEED BACKS BUT THIS TIME I HAPPILY DO SO. I DREADED REPLACING OUR APPR. 25 YEAR OLD HOVER CARPET CLEANER BECAUSE THESE DAYS COMPANIES ARE BUILDING SUCH GARBAGE. MY NEW MAYTAG WASHER IS A PIECE OF JUNK AND THE SERVICE IS A BAD AS IT CAN GET :O( THE SAME WITH THE LAST SHARK UPRIGHT CARPET CLEANER, USED TO BE AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT. I REPLACED WITH A HOOVER UPRIGHT AND AM QUIET HAPPY WITH IT. THANK YOU TO THE HOOVER COMPANY FOR EVEN IMPROVING ON WHAT WAS ALREADY AN EXCELLENT CARPET CLEANER. THIS NEW ONE IS SLEEKER, JUST AS POWERFUL, EASIER TO EMPTY, THE DIRTY TANK POP UP IS EASY TO HEAR WHEN THE TANK IS FULL, THE CORD IS LONG, ALL GOOD! HERE IS A PIECE OF ADVICE FOR YOU. AFTER WORKED WITH MANY CARPET CLEANERS OVER THE YEARS, SOME HOUSEHOLD, SOME INDUSTRIAL, AS I AM A RETIRED PROFESSIONAL HEAD HOUSE KEEPER IN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY, I CAN TELL YOU THAT HEAVY IS GOOD. THE HEAVIER THE MACHINE, THE DRIER TO CARPET. THE WEIGHT IS NEEDED WHEN REMOVING THE MOISTURE. THIS NEW MACHINE IS A BIT LIGHTER IN WEIGHT COMPARED TO MY OLD ONE, HOWEVER, THERE IS A LITTLE TRICK. BEFORE YOU START TO RINSE YOUR CARPET WITH CLEAN WATER, DON'T EMPTY THE BOTTOM (DIRTY WATER) TANK BUT LEAVE IT HALF FULL. THIS WILL ADD WEIGHT TO THE BOTTOM PART OF THE MACHINE WHICH IN TURN WILL GET MORE WATER/MOISTURE OUT OF THE CARPET WHICH SHOULD BE ALMOST DRY TO THE TOUCH. MOVE THE MACHINE OVER THE CARPET AS SLOW AS YOU CAN, THE SLOWER THE BETTER AS IT GIVES THE MACHINE THE EXTRA TIME TO REMOVE MOISTURE. WATCH THE TOP OF THE LOWER TANK FOR THE POINT WHEN NO WATER IS MOVING THROUGH. THE MACHINE LEFT MY CARPETS AS GOOD AS DRY JUST LIKE MY OLD ONE DID, BUT I DID HAVE TO GO BACK AND FORTH A BIT SLOWER THAT BEFORE AS THIS NEW MACHINE IS A BIT LIGHTER AND AS I SAID, LEAVE WATER IN THE BOTTOM TANK FOR WEIGHT. OUR HOUSE IS 80 % CARPET OR AREA RUGS SO i JUST FINISHED OUR LARGE LIVING ROOM AND THE DINING ROOM AREA RUG. AMAZING IS ALL I CAN SAY!!! DID NOT NEED A BOOKLET TO GET STARTED :O), THE TANKS POP IN EASILY, ALSO, WHEN THE TOP ONE WITH THE CLEAN WATER WAS EMPTY, THE BOTTOM ONE WAS FULL AT THE SAME TIME. HANDY! CARPETS LOOK LIKE NEW!!! THE CLEANUP WAS FAST TOO AS THE TANKS ARE SMOOTH INSIDE, NOT A LOT OF NOOKS AND GRANNIES FOR STUFF TO SETTLE IN. ANOTHER GREAT IMPROVEMENT IS THAT THE NOZZLE PART POPS OUT EASILY FOR RINSING, VERY NICE! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THE CLEANING FORMULA, YOU CAN ALSO FILL THE LITTLE TANK WITH WATER INSTEAD AND ADD THE FORMULA TO THE FRESH WATER TANK DIRECTLY. FOR RINSING THE CARPET JUST FILL THE LARGE WATER TANK WITH FRESH CLEAN WATER. I USE A COMMERCIAL CARPET CLEANER AND ADD IT TO THE HOT WATER TANK FOREGOING THE LITTLE FORMULA TANK. THIS WAY I CAN CHOOSE MORE FOR DIRTIER CARPETS AND LESS FOR CLEANER CARPETS. LASTLY, I DID NOTICE THAT FOR SOME REASON WITH THIS MACHINE I DID NOT NEED THE 'DEFOAMER' WHICH I HAD TO ADD TO THE BOTTOM DIRTY WATER TANK WITH THE OLD MACHINE. BECAUSE OF THE FOAM I HAD TO EMPTY THE TANK SO OFTEN OR ELSE USE A SHOT OF DEFOAMER. NOW I DON'T HAVE TO ANY LONGER. I AM HAPPY, HOPE IT LASTS AS LONG AS THE OLD ONE :O)

Three different Hoover carpet cleaning machine models purchased, (2020-2024) all sustained motor failure except Hoover PowerScrub X; each compared below. FYI BACKGROUND Use: Smaller house with various wool rugs, mostly large wool shag, 1.5-2.25 height, and and other .5”-1” height wool rugs as well as synthetic 3” height large shag and thin machine washable rug runners. Frequency: Est. monthly use. Up to 45min near-constant run time. Up to two (2) hours total run time with periodic on/off to refill water and empty reservoir, for carpet cleaning. {Infrequent use to clean (real) linen upholstered 7’ sofa with the Hoover PowerScrub XL & Hoover SmartWash Automatic Carpet Cleaner Machine}. Also used the Hoover PowerScrub XL for a large carpeted house, est. 2000 sf if carpeting with no issue and very good cleaning and suction to nearly a damp condition with no mechanical issue. REVIEW Comparable review and recommendation to just choose the Hoover PowerScrub XL. All did a very good job when working, to date only the Hoover PowerScrub XL did not sustained irreparable motor failure after approx 1 year. Best, preferred: The Hoover PowerScrub XL (Pet Carpet Cleaner Machine for Carpet and Upholstery, Deep Cleaning Carpet Shampooer Machine with Multi-Purpose Tools (at https://a.co/d/gQBt6rI ) is preferred, and based comparatively with other Hoover carpet/upholstery machines previously purchased (as referenced below). Note: The Powerscrub swirling brushes are an easy to remove attachment and when affixed it is strongly discouraged to use on wood flooring as you will cause floor surface scratching. Suction is very good. The Hoover PowerScrub XL is simply a better model, for power, ease of cleaning and longevity. Comparing other Hoover upholstery and/or carpet I also previously in years past (2020-2023) purchased two other Other model -Hoover SmartWash Automatic Carpet Cleaner Machine: Very good until it dies in about a year with very soon need to rug the suction part due to attachment/clasp failure. Purchased Two (2) of-Hoover SmartWash Automatic Carpet Cleaner Machine AND EACH DIED WITH IRREPARABLE ENGINE FAILURE after estimated monthly use with proper cleaning and care to maintain it in its very good condition. Also for this model buyer beware the front plastic suction hood at the clasp like attachment will break very soon into ownership and it will still work as necessary if one utilizes small bungee cords ( two connected to span the distance), but the hooks at the bungee ends must be placed and monitored so as to not cause scratching of other non-carpeted floor surface when moving the machine about. Same goes for the following which also died (est. 1 year, monthly use), with irreparable belt sticking or motor failure: Purchased in about 2020 - Hoover PowerDash Pet Compact Carpet Cleaner Machine, Lightweight Shampooer Machine, Pair with a Hoover Carpet Cleaner Solution for a Bright, Refreshed Home ( https://a.co/d/9VFeaig ). Again, the Hoover PowerScrub XL Pet Carpet Cleaner Machine for Carpet and Upholstery, Deep Cleaning Carpet Shampooer Machine with Multi-Purpose Tools (at https://a.co/d/gQBt6rI )- is preferred. Each of the above will do a decent job, the Hoover Power Dash was not then equipped with attachments for smaller jobs or upholstery; the preference is principally based on longevity, durability and ease of use and cleaning/maintenance.
