Ricola Throat Balm Caramel Herbal Throat Drops - 34 Count

I love these for when my throat gets scratchy at work. I teach, so I talk for hours on end and these help if I start coughing. They don’t have the typical medicine taste of other cough drops which is great. The liquid in the middle is very soothing for a sore throat and keeps tucked away for a while.

My husband and I have gotten pretty bad about having conversations from opposite ends of the house, and it’s wearing on my throat and voice. I’ve never been a fan of cough drops — except for Luden’s wild cherry 😋 — bc I absolutely loathe menthol; they’re always way too strong for me: it’s like eating Vick’s Vapor Rub! I was tickled when I found these: Ricola is a trusted brand, and caramel & real honey cough drops!? Yes, please! When they arrived I opened one right away and the second it was in my mouth, I panicked. I looked at the bag and there it was: peppermint. I’m normally very thorough about reading the details, but it’s actually good that I wasn’t thorough with these, bc I love them! The caramel & honey are delicious, and they downplay the mint really well. I have NEVER finished a cough drop that contained peppermint or menthol before: I’ve had 4 of these in 4 hours! I was surprised by how much better my throat felt after the 1st one; it felt like I’d had a cup of herbal tea w/a lot of honey. After the shock of mint wore off, I realized that the caramel flavor was really good: also, I began to notice that the achy, scratchy parts of my throat were beginning to feel better. My favorite part is the honey center, which is ‘licious of course, but I could feel it coating the irritated parts of my throat. Another thing I loved about these is their size: I have a very small mouth, and these don’t take up too much real estate: they’re less than an inch long. “Throat Balm” is a great descriptor for these lil’ helpers: also, they’re gluten-free and vegetarian.

Have great flavor, they work much better than the others. I always have an extra bag on hand.

These are so yummy that they're more like candy! Unfortunately that means they don't last as long as I really need a throat balm to last, so I go through these like... candy. But if that's not as much of a concern for you then I highly recommend them!

I've been using these throat drops for over a year. They are great for soothing a dry cough. It is a little odd that there is a liquid center, and I was a little put off by it at first, but not anymore. It does the job, and that's all I care about!

I should give it a 1 for the fact that I eat them like candy. They are not helping my calorie count at all. But they get a 5 because they sooth and help my t throat and sinus all while tasting like a famous buttery Carmel candy our Grandparents had in the house, or in a pocket. (Starts with a W)
