Bosch Cool 2000, Portable AC

Delighted with my Bosch air conditioner. Cools living room perfectly not too noisy you can still hear TV (you must expect some noise to enable it to cool room) looks good too. Easy to set up and use, only problem was exhaust tube was too short, I purchased extension.

Bought this just before the first heatwave in June ‘26 thinking Bosch was going to be a good robust machine. It definitely cools well providing ambient air is below 30° - beyond that it just really blows warm ish air around. The room I’m using it in is approx 9.6x 2.88 and had a vaulted ceiling in one half so it is a large space. (Instructions say it can only be used on air conditioning mode at 10°c below ambient temp max). It is EXTRAORDINARILY noisy. It buzzes very loudly intermittently which makes it very hard to sleep with whilst it’s running. Setting it up to vent through our timber outwards opening windows was a mission as well… had to buy a separate window kit. Final gripe is nowhere to store the vent tube when it’s not in use. It’s my first foray into AC in the UK - we’re having an extension built in the new year and we have decided to pay for a proper wall-mounted unit. However it is handy to have this and no doubt is helping keep a large space cool to work and sleep in though I shall be using it on timer mode and in conjunction with a fan to help keep me cool once it’s turned off and gone quiet enough to sleep!!

Th Bosch Cool 2000 Portable AC is brilliant! HERE'S WHY YOU SHOULDN'T GO FOR A CHEAP BRAND: I had previously bought a cheap one for sub £200. That was a waste of time as it sounded like a pneumatic drill and didn't give out anywhere near enough cold air for it - it struggled to cool the room down. HERE'S WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE A BOSCH: To cut through the confusing world of all the options out there, I just decided I would go for a reliable brand and spend considerably more money - Bosch was my choice and it has 100% been worth it. I only needed the smallest one as the room I want to cool down is quite small. It looks slick, it pumps out cold air in abundance. As air conditioners go it's quite quiet - I mean, obviously it does make some noise, but it's soothing white noise (a bit like the sound when you're on an aeroplane). If you want a reliably excellent portable air con unit and have the budget, my advice is look no further

Expensive not worth it very noisy not worth the money

I suspect the AC I received was a return. Some of the plastic wrapping on the unit was missing / looks to have been stuck back on badly, extra bits/manual not together neatly as you’d expect, and the panel on the top is lifted in a way it shouldn’t be. It doesn’t click back down even with force. Left the unit to settle 24 hours before testing it as I thought perhaps it was just not great packaging. The unit cools, and it does so somewhat well, however…the vent on the top doesn’t open/close smoothly, instead it jolts, and there is a grinding noise from inside the back of the unit which shouldn’t be happening. How do I know all of this is odd? My MIL has the same unit and and it didn’t arrive on this condition! Such a shame given the extremely inflated price! (This isn’t worth more than £350)

Well built , good quality, efficient cooling performance

Cools the room adequately and seems a quality build. Heavy to move around although it is on wheels. Noise level is quite high and I’ve hardly noticed a difference in sound level when on “silent”. The “sleep” mode isn’t much quieter either so I wouldn’t use it through the night as I’m a light sleeper and that would definitely keep me awake. Im disappointed with Bosch as they don’t sell the exhaust hose separately which is a bit silly if you damage the original hose or need to extend it. I’ve tried “off the shelf” hoses and the quality of them simply doesn’t match the quality of the Bosch hose. Very disappointing service from a reputable, trusted company.
