This kit is actually pretty slick. Each of the items telescopes out to somewhere between 3 and 4 feet. They are fairly heavy duty compared to others I've used. Very sturdy materials. Bigger than I expected, too. I actually bought these for my son who works HVAC. He was complaining one day he couldn't see above some joist or another. I told him he needed a mirror. Low and behold, my phone must have been listening (we know it was) because up popped this devil...this kit. We played with these for quite a while once they arrived. We telescoped everything out. Some have goosenecks (I didn't realize) so can be aimed, others have lights that are actually quite bright for being what they are. I believe all have a magnetic base, and one is a telescoping magnet that is fairly strong. The mirrors are pretty sweet. The square one has lights on the end which works really well if you need to see under or over in the dark. It takes AAA batteries. The flashlight ended one uses the CR-round-watch-type batteries and you have to unscrew it to turn it off. If you unscrew too far, the back falls off and the batteries fall out. I think that's really the only drawback on this set. But the mirrors are good sized so exceptionally helpful. He loves them and immediately put them in his kit for work.

The magnet is very strong, seems to be very durable and very flexible so that you can adjust it where you need it and bonus that it has a light on the end of it to help you see everything you need to see!
