I bought this 5L Castrol EDGE 5W-40 for an oil change and chose it because I wanted a reputable fully synthetic oil rather than going for a random cheaper brand. This is a top quality 5w40 engine oil. I use it in a second car, a 21 year old bmw z4 e85 with 100,000 + miles on it. Spec of car says 5w30 but with higher miles this oil keeps the engine in good order and quieter. BMW forums highly rate this oil for higher mileages. The car only does around 2000 miles a year and I change the oil and filter annually. The engine is as smooth as it was when I bought it over 20 years ago. The car has always had castrol oil.

Ho acquistato questo Castrol EDGE 5W-40 il 16 luglio 2026 a 53,36 € e, considerando qualità del prodotto e formato da 5 litri, all’epoca il prezzo era davvero molto conveniente. Appena l’ho visto a quella cifra non ci ho pensato due volte e l’ho acquistato subito. Lo utilizzo sulla mia Audi A3 8P 2.0 TDI 140 CV e mi sono trovato benissimo. È un olio totalmente sintetico di ottima qualità, adatto a chi vuole prendersi seriamente cura del motore e non risparmiare proprio su uno dei componenti più importanti per lubrificazione e protezione. Il motore gira regolare e fluido e, personalmente, preferisco affidarmi a un marchio come Castrol piuttosto che risparmiare pochi euro su oli di qualità inferiore. Su un turbodiesel come il mio, soprattutto con diversi anni sulle spalle, considero fondamentale utilizzare un lubrificante valido e sostituirlo con regolarità. Prodotto che reputo eccellente e che acquisterei nuovamente senza esitazioni, soprattutto trovandolo ancora a un prezzo simile. Per quanto mi riguarda, soldi spesi benissimo.
