This is a good oven mit but is very difficult to use on its own. You need to have two…one for each hand. Otherwise the thumb gets into the hot dish and becomes soiled by the contents of the dish.Buy two and you will have an excellent product. I stuffed a pair of £3,000 earrings inside the ones I bought and gave them to my wife for Christmas. Turned a rather sad present into a joy!

The thing's massive and slides off your hand, meaning that there's lots of gathered fabric at the finger tips. Ordinarily this isn't a problem until you try to get something out that's got a sauce. Your thumb gets dipped in sauce which isn't great - it can get messy!It might be better if you had a pair of them, because once you manage to get hold of something it works very nicely, protecting your hands from the searing heat of your overware for quite some time before you need to put the things down. It's also ambidextrous, so lefties are equally catered to (with their equally saucy thumbs).

Although these gloves have great heat resistance, they are not flexible enough to grip a heavy item properly, probably because of the silicone lining. I have dropped a couple of things which is a safety issue, but luckily escaped burning myself.

Much cheaper than LeCreuset, similar and good to use.

I bought this for a friend of mine when they started uni over 3 years ago, I recently went to visit them and this glove works just as well as when I first got it for her. It is very good and covers all of your hand so that you feel safe lifting heavy things out of the oven.

the join between the the thumb and mitten portion failed so heat burns occur on gripping AVOID THIS PRODUCT!

I bought two, having read the reviews. They're OK used as a pair to lift a hot dish, for example, but each individual glove is a bit too bulky to allow you to grip anything between thumb and fingers. Maybe this will improve when they've been washed, which will not be for a while, as they have to be washed separately according to the instructions - presumably the colour runs, so I'm not sure what that will do to their appearance.On reflection, unless they can be used individually to grip hot dishes, I might as well stick to the double oven glove I already had, so let's hope they improve with washing!July 2014: They didn't improve, despite numerous washes, and they're hardly ever used now.
