Worked great to convert my wall switched electric garage doors to remote
Worked great to convert my wall switched electric garage doors to remote. I did two separate doors, you can do up to four. Great piece of kit

Much better quality than expected, but instructions useless!
This is a nicely made little unit. It works well starting my diesel generator remotely. The box ix too small for all but the tiniest cables so I put it in a bigger enclosure. Also the instructions are less than useless! The use of ABCD for the 4 channels and then using ABC for the terminals is also stupid. For reference; Looking at the unit as in the pics, the channels are ABCD going from right to left. The terminals are A= Normally open, B=Common, C=normally closed. So for a simple ON/OFF switch use B and A They are all volt-free terminals meaning you can switch 12v, 24v , 110 or 240v. The jumper has 3 possible positions. As supplied it is in self-latching toggle mode, ie one press for ON, another press for OFF. remove the jumper and you get momentary functionality, ie the channel is ON for as long as you hold the button down so this is good in starting applications. I have no idea what the third option is (Interlock) ! The wiring diagram for a DC motor is a little confusing but it's basically to show how to energise and then reverse a motor, eg for a garage door. So you are using channels A and B for UP/DOWN of the door. Jumper must be in momentary mode. Press A, motor is energised, press B and motor is energised with reverse polarity. You could use self-latching mode if you have end switches on the door runners. Standby current measured at 8mA, quoted 6 but still very low. This will flatten my genny battery in 83 days! I may disable the blue standby LED which serves no purpose. It's all 12v and Solar at this location. I like this unit and have already thought of loads of other uses. I wish they did a 220v version...4 out of 5 because of lousy instructions, and I have only just fitted it so we will see how long it lasts...

The product works well and costs little
Great product, could I suggest that the remote controls have better protection against pocket pressing? Switched the lights on by accident a number of times. I still love the kit though, well done

Cheap but useless! DO NOT BUY!
So, I ordered 2 of these as I thought they were great at a very good price. However, I am now returning them. I would leave a Zero Star rating if I could! The install, and instructions etc are all fine. They do work to a degree. My issue with these, is very similar to another review I read here very recently actually - The relays seem to have a mind of their own!! In just 24 hours, the damned relays turned themselves on at least 7 or 8 times. My car had a flat battery this morning, as ALL 4 relays had somehow turned themselves on and meant my external lights and other accessories were powered up for hours until the car went flat!! I then spent the day keeping an eye on my car as I was home all day - I connected a charger to my vehicle battery and watched it. My remote was left in the empty house (It was only myself home) and out the way... yet for no apparent reason, out of nowhere, the relays would suddenly turn on! No neighbours unlocking their cars, no passers-by -- no explanation other than faulty design or something. So basically, these are useless. A remote control relay is pointless if it's just going to randomly turn itself on for no apparent reason. Also means, in my case, I can't trust the hardware and don't fancy coming back to a car with a flat battery after a days work. I've heard others having issues connecting these to garage openers (for example) and having the same issue! Coming home to find their garages wide open because the relay randomly turns on. Utterly pointless and useless and a compete waste of money! I'm returning both of these as defective / faulty / not fit for purpose. If anyone can recommend a better product, please do so by adding a comment to this review.

Very short range No where near 100m!!!!
Great remote control worjs very well one BIG down point. It Doesnt work 100 m away I wanted to use it to turn a light on on my narrowboat the boat is 18.5m long i could not get the remot to cork consistently until i move to just under half that distance & this is OUTSIDE. If you are able to make & solder a larger aerial then you can just about achieve 16m distance.. So once agsin the 100m distane is a rather large over estimation.

Good Value
This remote control switch looks well made and worked perfectly out of the box. It is really good value. The only pity is that they are single pole relays, so I had to supplement the circuit to achieve what I needed.
