Easy set up. Works good.

More economical than similar live traps, but poor functionality. Trap door gets hung up frequently. Difficult to set. Really difficult to release animal once trapped.

I've been having problems with raccoons near my chickens and purchased this 51" trap, among others, to help with the issue. As anyone that deals with raccoons knows, they are extremely tough and resourceful critters. I often have raccoons power out of smaller traps designed like this one, but I had a raccoon trigger this trap and proceed to bend and destroy anything it could. The trap held, but you can see it destroyed the handle protecting plate as well as the actuator rod for the trigger plate. I am going to buy another one of these traps.

Ididn't even believe it would work when it was delivered, and when I was assembling the trap.To be honest, I mostly figured it out myself rather than following the instructions. Another downside is that releasing the animal isn't easy either, because of how the door is designed. And if I were catching a different animal, I would be scared to open the door. Plus, I used it for 3 days and already the metal has rusted in several places. These are the negatives. But the plus side is that it really works!!! The key is to choose the right food. Because on the first day, I put cabbage, and the rabbit didn't like it. The next day, I added an apple, and a few hours later, the rabbit was already sitting in the cage. I took it far away from the house, and on the second day, I caught another one. I released it in the same place where I released the first one. Let's see how many more rabbits are left.I give to this cage 4 stars . But the quality really needs to be improved.

I ordered 2 cages to trap feral cats to be transported for spaying, one cat squeezed out of the cage and got loose in my vehicle. The spaying place said they would not allow the cats to be transported home in these cages because they were unstable and not reliable to contain the cats. I would not recommend because the wiring is not strong and construction of cages is not sturdy nor reliable.

Originally got this to trap a raccoon that was coming into our cat's back shed room and literally sleeping on top of his house. Never did trap the raccoon but I did trap....the cat. Atleast I know the trigger mechanism works. I eventually just returned it because I'm accepting the raccoon I'm after is too wily for this. He also hasn't been coming around often so it's less of a concern now. However, if you have animals that are constantly in your vicinity, this is great. Easy to setup and get it armed once you learn it. Would recommend.

Work well. Little hard to set door. 5 raccoons and counting

Arrived with clips broken off and totally useless assembly instructions. I was able to assemble but it does not work - the door does not shut completely.
