Smart, clear, and no subscription - love it!
This doorbell is a huge upgrade! The video quality is super clear, and I love the dual cameras - being able to see both visitors and packages is a game changer. The AI detection works really well and sends accurate alerts without constant false notifications. It also maps activity clearly so I know exactly what’s happening at my door. Best part: no subscription needed, which is a big win. Everything works smoothly in the app, and the overall experience feels very high-end. Definitely worth it if you want smart security without extra monthly fees!

Great Video Doorbell
Easy enough to install and replace a previous hardwired doorbell. The 15 degree mounting bracket add-on came in very handy, not only to make sure I had the right view for the front door, but also provide a little extra storage space for the wire caps for the extension cables. Definitely use the positioning tape/guide to make it easy to see where the mounting brackets and screws need to be. Battery took 3-5 hours to fully charge before installing and using. Sound quality is spot on, and easy to customize and is compatible with Homebase 3 and Eufy app for alerts; some older doorbell chimes may not work alongside this though, and Homebase alert sounds are limited. Would be nice to be able to customize your own alert sound. You do need to adjust the detection settings as it was picking up every little motion and cars all the way on the street. Lots of features in the app, mostly AI-based to alert you of when a package is delivered, if someone messes with a delivery after, and whether a delivery was forgotten after a certain time you can set. Concerns: I've read there are concerns with the battery charge while hardwired, but it appears the battery will deplete until <90% then start charging back up. Mine has hovered between 88-90% without the chime jumper cables, but I have installed those to see if that changes anything. Transformer already met requirements. At night, there is a slight flicker around the package camera edges, but it's not the actual light causing it; during the day the video is fine. Most likely due to ground/surface surroundings and the infrared light, but isn't affecting the main area of the video feed. Main camera during the day and night is great quality.

The best video camera I have had to date
This eufy doorbells on a whole different level compared to my previous system (from a very popular brand that shall remain unnamed, iykyk). This one is way more intuitive, easier to manage, and just feels smarter overall. Super easy for a non-tech savvy gal like me. First of all the video quality? Perf. The nighttime looks like daytime. I was not expecting it to be that clear without blasting a spotlight everywhere, but here we are. Bonus points that I can toggle on and off basically EVERYTHING woth these cameras, something my old system severely lacked on. It’s crisp and you can actually see what’s going on instead of grainy blobs. The motion detection is also much better. I’m not getting spammed every time my windchimes moves, which is such a relief. No monthly fees is the straight up cherry on top, i got SO sick of paying monthly fees on... the other brand. Local storage, expandable options, easy app control it just works. Setup was smooth, everything feels premium, and I finally feel like my home security is actually secure instead of hoping for the best. Couldn’t be happier with my experience as a whole. There is a tiny lag when opening an event but its so miniscule it does not bother me, plus it is recording the whole time so no capturing worries. It is fully compatible with my other eufy system pieces so it feels like a seamless add on.

No subscription and double camera!
I like this doorbell! I just got it this week and I'm loving it. I like how you don’t have to pay for subscription to see past videos and can just use a SD card. I like the second camera facing down to see the package because on my Ring camera, that was a blind spot so I would sometimes not get notifications when the mail carrier would place the package. I also like how it has extra lights around the device so you can have the color night light. You can change how you want the color from warm to cool and the brightness. I thought that it would be on the entire time but thankfully, it just turns on when it sense motion. Set up was easy. If you had set up a Ring camera before, it's pretty much the same. The only thing thats different is that the Eufy camera is more slimmer so if you have wood that it is mounted on, you would definitely see the holes from the previous Ring camera. But, nothing some wood filler and paint can't fix. The kit comes with some wire extenders which was super useful to me since my doorbell wires are a bit on the shorter side. Some cons I have about this device is that it overheats pretty easy. For me, the device is set where the sun shines right on it when the sunsets. I get a notification that my device is overheating. Turns out it will shut off when it hits around 120F. It sucks, because I can't really help that. I live in Hawaii and right now, its on the lower temp since it's winter. So the fact that it had that warning when it's only about lile 80F out makes me kinda scared on how it will fair during the summer time. I don't know if Ring has a shut down feature when it heats up to a certain point but I do know that it never happened before. So I will update this during the summer to see if this shuts down. Another con is that this isn't really a wide lens. Compared to the Ring, I saw from the door to the driveway. On the Eufy doorbell, I see from the door to the very beginning of my driveway. I mean it's not really a life changing con but it was just something to point out. Overall, I like it! I know I only had it for a week but it's been working pretty well. I got it when it was on sale and the fact that it has two cameras for half the price of the Ring doorbell with not even the same feature. Update after 1 month: One issue I have with this doorbell is that I keep getting notifications that there is motion but when I check, it's just a car passing. I change the activity area so that it shouldn't catch the car motion but it still gives me the alert! I did everything by changing the activity area and even changing the sensitivity of the motion to low. Nope. Still doesn't work and I keep getting the alerts.

Excellent device lots of settings easy to set up works extremely well with hb3
This is a lifesaver my neighbor is a criminal and this brings a lot of peace to me when I'm at doctor's appointments and things. And they've responded to every single time that I had a glitch or something the folks inside the app respond right away, I think they're doing good things and I'm looking to get more cameras this was so great I bought an inside camera from them and it works good too the pan and tilt it all connects to the home base 3 and it's pretty seamless once you get it up and running it's smooth. You can save a fortune then paying monthly or whatever it is to ring or whatever, I find this is something I haven't been able to live without and it stays up weeks months at a time without going down or needing any kind of maintenance. You can watch your camera on your phone while you're walking to the store or driving to the store if you live in a risky area this is the way to you to give yourself peace of mind and the detection software is amazing. You can always nitpick but there's not many downsides to this one I mean it it's got all the settings that you could need. Yeah I'd give it six stars if I could. It's got good lighting settings, it's got color night vision I believe, it has standard infrared, it's got sound detection, yeah it's a monster for the price I paid for it I really am impressed it's worth it,

Very good video doorbell
I’m loving my eufy doorbell. I also have the home base so videos are stored on a hard drive until I delete them. I’d say it works quite well compared to my parent’s other name brand video doorbell. Video quality is good and the split camera is nice for packages. There are many settings to fine tune this device. I’d highly recommend.

So glad we got this!
We had a SimpliSafe doorbell & a lot of times it didn't work! My husband found this. He felt that the instruction were very good and that it was easy to hook up and very clear, and it worked quickly and easily and we didn't have to call for assistance, or anything. We both love that you don't have to pay for any service to save anything to, which save money! The security is stellar! It also has two cameras, which we really love! It picks up every single delivery & even people walking in the driveway or yard! It has a pack camera that looks at the floor of the porch, and if there's a package, a little round picture that allows you a quick but really good look at the package. It's also great that it's wired and hooks to our in-house doorbell that actually keeps the battery charged. Lighting can be left on or off because it has its own light, if needed, or as a huge added bonus, it can go infared. The videos are very clear & great and can be customized (small animals, etc). The view/detection areas can also be customized, which is great. The SimpliSafe camera used to always alert us for anyone going by on the road, but not for people who actually walked onto the porch! We love this Eufy camera! Additionally, you can watch the very clear videos on your phone or you can download them, if you want to. This Eufy Security Video Doorbell E340 is truly a professional system with top notch functionality! My husband & I both highly recommend it!

It only has 2 pros, but many cons and issues that I was unable to resolve. UPDATE!
UPDATE 8/3/25 I finally got so frustrated with this doorbell camera that I decided to return it. There were literally only 2 things I liked about this doorbell camera - the duel camera set-up to see both people and packages on the porch, and not needing a paid subscription to utilize it fully. That's it! Everything else sucked! The motion sensing, the app, the notification ringtones, the night view, etc. Some I outlined in my initial review (ringtones for one), but I ended up having other issues over time as well. In the end I just couldn't deal with the continuing, on-going problems anymore. For some reason, the motion detecting zone I set up kept reverting to the default every couple of days. I could always tell because I would start to get random motion notifications that were outside of the detection zone I set up. I would set it up again, only to have it revert to default a couple of days later again! Even when the detection zone was in place, I would get alerts whenever a car drove by the house. The road was outside of the detection zone, and the motion was set to only detect humans (not cars). The funny thing is, it would detect cars, but not humans. If people walked by (walking dogs etc.) I got nothing, but a car would trigger it. Go figure! After resetting and starting from scratch multiple times, this continued to happen. I can't tell you how frustrating this was. Add to those issues, the terrible ringtones that they provide that are too short and not loud enough to hear even if your phone is laying out on a table (God forbid you're phone is in your pocket). The night vision is absolutely horrible. I tried every single setting in the app to no avail. The B&W IR setting showed almost nothing. You couldn't see anything more than about 2 feet from the camera, and even then it was hard to make out a person's features because it was so fuzzy. The color setting was a bit better, but I still wouldn't recognize someone if not right up at the lens. Like the B&W, there was no vision at all at a distance of more than 2-3 feet. I do want to address one thing one my initial review I got wrong. I stated there was no security screw to keep the camera from being removed easily. That was true, but I did find when I was removing it, there is a pin on the top that has to be depressed with something like a paperclip to remove the camera. So, it does have some security, but anyone with a paperclip can still remove it easily. A screw with a security head would be a better option, but what they have is better than nothing. Unfortunately, as much as I liked the dual camera and not paying for a subscription, I found this doorbell camera to have just too many issues to have to deal with on a daily basis. Maybe in the future they will get their act together and solve the problems this camera has, but I can't wait for that to happen. I went back to my old doorbell camera brand (you can guess who), and simply paid for the least expensive plan I could get. It's worth it not to have the aggravation I endured with this Eufy doorbell camera. ORIGINAL REVIEW I got this because I was getting tired of paying for my subscription to another brand, and they just raised the price again! I also liked that this has a 2k main camera, and a second package camera with no subscription cost whatsoever! Installing this camera is pretty straightforward. I removed my other camera doorbell, which was the hardest part as it had been there for around 10 years, and I forgot how it was mounted. Luckily, I still had the original box which had the installation/removal tool with instructions. I want to note that one of my biggest disappointments with the Eufy camera is that there is no way to securely attach it to the house. The bracket it attached with screws, but the camera itself simply clips in place. Someone can easily just walk up and pull it off the wall. Why is there no specialty screw to hold it to the bracket like my 10 year old doorbell camera had? Major security lapse IMO. Strike 1. The install itself is easy, although the bracket and camera is larger than my old one, and I had to modify my siding to enable it to fit, as well as drill new holes. I also had to purchase and install a new doorbell transformer, as the original one was under powered for this camera. Since it was probably 50 years old, that makes sense. If you are going to use the house doorbell chime like I am, and you are going to hard wire the doorbell camera, you need to insure your transformer has enough voltage to power the doorbell camera. After installing the bracket, I went inside to set up the doorbell. I downloaded the app on the Play store, and created an account. Finding the app was a bit of a pain, as the instructions had a slightly different name for the app than the Store did. They should standardize the name so there is no confusion for users. Adding the camera to the app is straightforward and the app makes it easy to follow the setup using a step-by-step process. The only glitch came when it had a hard time scanning the QR code on the camera and/or box. It failed a dozen times until I backed out and started the process over from scratch. After that it was smooth sailing. I clipped the camera to the bracket (again, no security screw to help prevent theft), and proceeded to test it. When pressing the doorbell, the house chime did not ring. That prompted me to go into the app settings and start going through all the possibilities. There are a lot of settings to check and modify for how you want them. I did eventually find the setting to enable the house chime, and it verified it would work. When tested, it did now work properly. I have found that I HATE with a passion, the choices for notification ring tones. You can only select from 8 of them, and they all suck! They are too short (just one "ring" or tone - no repeating), and way too low/soft. They are like short, very soft sounds that don't get your attention, and if not paying attention, you can miss them altogether! There is also no way to use a custom ring tone from your phone. With my old camera I had a submarine dive alarm that would play when motion was detected at the door. There was no way to ignore that sound, regardless of where you were or how loud the background was. Forget the default sounds they provide, and give us a custom selection that allows us to choose any ringtone on our phone! Strike 2. I had a Gen1 doorbell camera from the leader in doorbell cameras, and while the video quality isn't as good as this one (I think it might be 720 at best), I find I could actually recognize people better at a distance. Even at 2k with this camera, I can't really distinguish individuals unless I zoom in on their face. With the old camera, I could recognize the person easily at a distance, even if it was a bit grainy. Not sure why that is happening, but it is. Strike 3. The night vision on the main camera is terrible. I can literately see nothing! Just total blackness at the default setting. At least with my old camera I could see shades of gray and make out shapes. I will need to take some time to test out the various night vision settings to see if I can find a better option. I read you can select color night vision and the camera will shine lights to see better, but I can't find any info if the lights shine only when motion is detected or all the time when it gets dark. Again, I will need to make some time to test this to find the answer. This may, or may not, be another strike, depending on what I find during testing. On the other hand, I LOVE the package camera. My old camera didn't show the porch at all, while this one shows the whole thing. I know the newer cameras from the same company as my old camera now show head-to-toe video, but from what I've seen, it is a distorted fish bowl image. Both these Eufy cameras show a normal image without distortion. They also allow you to create a detection zone for motion, so you get less false alerts. There is a downside to having the package camera. When looking at video, it shows the main camera on top, and the package camera on the bottom. Makes sense right? However, that prevents you from turning your phone and being able to see the main camera in landscape mode. Sometimes I find it helpful to see the front yard in landscape mode and not just portrait mode where the edges are harder to make out. With this camera you don't have that option. I really wish they will make that available in a future update. Strike 3.5 Unfortunately, even at higher sensitivity settings, this camera misses motion many times. I don't have to worry about false alerts, as I don't even get legitimate ones all the time! Again, I don't know why, but will continue playing with zones and sensitivity settings to try to find an acceptable detection factor. Strike 4 I also don't know why this camera uses your phones data when when accessing Live View. My old one used WIFI, and I don't see why this one doesn't as well. I still haven't found out if this only uses the data when viewing Live View, or if it uses it 24/7. If it uses it constantly, I need to know so I can figure out how to turn it off, although I will miss being able to check the Live View occasionally. Strike 5 The other unanswered question I have is the blue round light that goes off when motion is detected. I prefer to go stealth, and not have it obvious that the camera is recording, but the settings are confusing, as I'm not sure if I turn the light off, if it turns off motion as well. I wish there was a better operating guide, as I can't even find some answers using Google. I'm still figuring out how to best use this doorbell camera, but so far have found it has many flaws, with just a few improvements over my old camera. Most of the flaws could be improved easily, but I doubt I will see much improvement. Companies just don't seem to care about customer satisfaction these days. All things being equal, I would normally return this camera and go back to my old one. However, even with all the issues with this doorbell camera, the one overriding factor that will result in me keeping it, is the fact there are no subscription fees to view and store video. I also have the other manufactures alarm system, so I will keep the basic policy, but I have already downgraded my subscription which will save me a good amount of cash. The savings will pay for this camera within a year. After that, I save money each and every year. This could be a great doorbell camera if they will only make a few tweaks to the software and the app. I sincerely hope they listen to feedback from their customers, and make the necessary changes. Until then, I'll just make do with what I have.
