Now I understand a bit better why Whack-A-Mole is so popular at the arcades. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my niece's children (one boy, one girl), and nearly two years later, it is STILL their favorite indoor play activity. I guessed that they would like it, but I also guessed that they would break it very quickly. It has proven itself quite durable as well as a provider of hours of fun.

This game is fun for most kids...except my 5 and 7 year old grandkids. Not all the game options are two player and it has caused so many fights that I put it up within hours of gifting it. The sticks for hitting the moles are weapons when the opponents disagree. Beware! Unless you have an only child, this game is not so fun for us referees. *I should note that my 7 year old granddaughter is half Wednesday Adam's half Violet from Willy Wonka and my 5 year old grandson is a Dennis the Menace. They are oil and water for every thing they do.

My son just got this game and He keeps wanting to play over and over. I doubted the steam would work but it does ! My son gets so excited when the steam comes out he doesn't even realize I've won every time 😉

Update: new one works great. Kids love it I will replace with a new one and update my review accordingly. Only one side lights up even though it does react to being hit on that side. The volume + lowers the volume and the -raises it. I'm very disappointed in this and hope it's a dud. My 4 year old was so upset on Christmas morning to a broken box with a QC sticker right on it.

We got these grandchildren. They had a great time playing with this toy. Don't know how it's going to stand up over time, but they sure loved it when they saw it and played with it. Better than most!

Good luck keeping track of the coins with kids.. Though this was a bad idea but I was over ruled by the wife. She has the last say.. Why I thought it was a bad idea, was spot on!! Hammers with kids hitting things not a good idea.. Especially each other.. adult supervised is a must with this one.. Wife also had a hard time setting up the game selection.. Kids that want to play NOW and getting frustrated to have to wait is not a good combination.. and they don't have to be monsters, to push them to hit something with a hammer in hand as this game is designed for.

Great fun, has little coins to put in just like a real arcade ! Also has many levels from the most basic to advance , great for all ages!
