NEW Review: Lee Horsley fan. - Bought the series for my mother. She enjoys watching. Lee Horsley is her favorite. Review: Great Classic TV - Since TV series started coming to DVD, my mom and I have each had a list of stuff we’ve loved over the years. Whether we saw it during its broadcast seasons, re-runs, or both; we have an extensive list. This was one of my mom’s wish list items. I had gotten it back for her on her birthday in late July and she FINALLY got done watching it. Had to stretch it out since it was so good, I guess This is the full three (3) seasons of the series. The picture quality is what you’d expect for a 1980’s TV series on DVD. From what I saw, it isn’t too bad, but isn’t HD quality. Sadly there are no captions for the deaf or hearing impaired. The packaging isn’t shabby. The slip case reveals a hard, snap-case. This can be tricky to open for those with dexterity issues. The DVDs are stored in a “plastic/mesh” CD holder. I say CD holder as this looks like the inside of one of my old CD carry cases. The entire thing is one piece, and holds all discs. This might be handy for those who might want to travel by plane with the DVD set – less packaging. The titles are listed on the DVDs, but there are no DVD guides to describe the episodes. Overall; for the price (which was for me less than $30), packaging, and the quality; this is a pretty decent value. My mom was pretty happy with it.

Fun series, but no subtitles/closed captioning, but excellent packaging
Excellent packaging! I wish all dvd companies would ise this packaging for multiple seasons. Dvds are easy to find if you’re looking for one in partcular. There’s no danger of scratching a disc on the plastic. Discs are easy to get out & put back. Because there are sleeves instead of those raised plastic pieces to press on, there is no dange of breakage! Less wear & tear on the discs themselves! I onlywish this series had subtitles/closed captions.

Excellent Series
This is an excellent series but only a very good release. The first season appears to be the network episodes with each running around 49-50 minutes each. They play fine with no freezes, etc. The picture and sound are crisp and clear. The other seasons are the syndicated episodes and run between 45-46 minutes each. So there are 3 to 4 minutes cut from each episode. The continuity in some episodes is bad as some scenes are missing. Some episodes have the opening cut and the episodes begin where it lists the guest stars. The picture quality is only good and somewhat out of focus. If you sit at a reasonable distance from your TV screen it is acceptable. I only have a 32" HDTV. The sound is O.K. but not as good season one. Overall it is an excellent series.

Favorite from childhood
Favorite from childhood. Haven't seen it since it originally aired. Thoroughly enjoyed watching every episode, but the first season is still the best.

Great show from the go-go 1980s!
This DVD collection of the entire "Matt Houston" series is a high-quality transfer from the original 35mm print film. Although the image is the standard TV 1:33 to 1 aspect ratio (full frame) the image quality and sound are excellent. The price of the collection was amazingly low and it arrived on time. This show was one of the best of the one hour "Action" dramatic shows of the time, and it competed directly with "Magnum PI", another popular 80s show. Watching it brings back memories of Friday nights with my girlfriend, watching "Dallas" and then Matt Houston at 10pm. Lots of popular guest stars of the day appeared each week. PS: The woman with Matt in the photo is Barbara Carrera, who guest-starred in the 2-hour pilot.

Good times
Watched this as a kid. Sometimes funny, sometimes hokie. Sometimes serious. Sometimes dramatic. It couldn't make u its mind what kind of program it was going to be... nonetheless very entertaining. Wish Buddy Ebsen had been in more episodes. Love the main cast!
